What is our real business?

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna
All glories to Swami Gaurangapada!
All glories to Srilla Prabhupada!

What is our real business? How can we become real happy? Srilla Prabhupada wrote in letter to Cyavana das Prabhu on 11. November 1972:

"Preaching is our real business, not getting big, big buildings and doing business for money just to maintain them, no. We shall live under a tree, that is not difficult, but we must go on preaching every moment, that will make us happy."

Cry out Holy Name!

In beautifull book compiled by our Gurudeva - Glories of Lord Balarama I found next statement:
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna
All glories to Swami Gaurangapada
All glories to Srilla Prabhupada

"If a devotee cries out humbly and sincerely to Lord Sri Krishna to remove these demoniac qualities which are represented by the demons killed by Lord Krishna, then Sri Krishna Himself will remove those evils. But the devotees must personally work to drive out the anarthas represented by the demons killed by Lord Balarama. This is a mystery of Vraja bhajan. The aspirant must personally remove these strong impediments with his best care and efforts and by obtaining the mercy of Krishna. If the devotee's humility becomes very deep and intense, Krishna will be merciful. In that case, the feeling of Lord Balarama will arise in his mind and quickly destroy these demoniac qualities. Then one will gradually improve his cultivation of Bhajan"

Therefore let us cry out Nityananda! Nityananda! Gauranga! Gauranga!

Shrila Narahari Sarkara Thakura Disappearance Day

taken from Sri Krishna-kathamrta Bindu Magazine.

SRILA NARAHARI SARKAR THAKUR
Srila Krishnadas Kaviraja Goswami writes in the ādi-līlā (10.78-79) of Śrī Caitanya- caritāmrta:

khanda-vāsī mukunda-dāsa, śrī-raghunandana narahari-dāsa, cirañjīva, sulocana
ei saba mahāśākhā — caitanya-kpādhāma prema-phala-phula kare yāhān tāhā dāna

Sri Khandavasi Mukunda and his son Raghunandan were the thirty-ninth branch of the tree, Narahari was the fortieth, Chiranjiv the forty-first, and Sulochan the forty-second. They were all big branches of the all-merciful tree of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. They distrib-uted the fruits and flowers of love of Godhead anywhere and everywhere.

Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has commented on these verses:
Narahari Das Sarkar was a very famous devotee. Lochan Das Thakur, the celebrated author of Śrī Caitanya-mangala, was his disciple. In the Caitanya-mangala it is stated that Sri Gadadhar Das and Narahari Sarkar were extremely dear to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Srila Narahari Sarkar Thakur was a physician, born in a prestigious family of medical practitioners. He appeared around 1478 (some say 1479 or 1480) in the village of Sri Khanda, near Katwa, in the Barddhaman district of what is currently West Bengal. In krsna-līlā he was the dear companion of Srimati Radharani named Madhumati Sakhi. His father's name was Sri Narayan Dev Sarkar. His mother was Sri Goyi Devi, the daughter of Murari Sen. His younger brother was Madhava Das. His elder brother was Sri Mukunda Thakur, who was the doctor for the Muslim king at Gaur.
Although Narahari is described as a fair- complexioned, handsome man, he never married. After Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu took sannyāsa, Narahari became his follower.
According to the local history in Katwa, the deity at the Gauranga Mahaprabhu temple there was originally made at the re-quest of Narahari. It is said that after Mahaprabhu took sannyāsa and departed from Nabadwip, Narahari Thakur was cry-ing and remembering the Lord. One evening he had a dream in which Mahaprabhu told him that the two brothers Kamsari and Daitari Ghosh in the nearby village of Kulain should make a deity of him. When Narahari spoke with them the next day, he found that they had had the same dream. The brothers then showed Narahari a large neem tree that was growing in the garden next to their house. From that tree they made three dei-ties of Mahaprabhu. Narahari sent the big-gest deity to Gadadhar Das in Katwa, the medium-sized deity was kept by Narahari in nearby Sri Khanda, and the smallest de-ity was sent to Ganga Nagara.

They say in Sri Khanda that once Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord Nityananda Prabhu came to visit Narahari, and they asked him for some honey to drink. By his mystic powers, Narahari transformed a nearby pond into honey. That pond is still present today and is called Madhu-puskarini.
Another local tradition describes that once in the village Badadanga, Narahari was dancing so ecstatically in kīrtana that one of his ankle-bells flew off and landed some distance away at the home of his disciple Krishnadas, in the village of Akai Hatta.

Lochan Das has sung the glories of his spiritual master in Caitanya-mangala (1.2.632-646):

Sri Narahari Das is my master. I will sing his glorious character and activities.

How can I describe his glorious character and activities? As far as the power of my intelligence allows, I will speak.

O my heart, please don't be proud. Simply bow down before the spiritual master's feet.

O my master, by the mercy of your feet even a person like myself, a person worthless like a pile of ashes, can describe your glories.

I am Sri Narahari's servant. He is my master. In the community of physicians he is glorious and famous.

His love for Krishna has no limit. His body is filled with Krishna's potency. To his followers he reveals the truths of ecstatic love for Krishna.

His heart is overcome with compassion for the numberless conditioned souls. His heart is always restless with ecstatic love for Krishna.

When divine love arose within him it was as if his body was plunged in the nectar of love for Sri Sri Radha-Krishna.

In this way, moment after moment plunged in Sri Sri Radha-Krishna's nectarean glories, he lived in the village of Sri Khanda.

[Because he was so dear to the Lord] he became known as "Narahari Chaitanya". Without his feet I have no good future.

One moment he was plunged in ecstatic love for Sri Krishna. Another moment he was plunged in ecstatic love for Sri Radha. He was the per-sonification of the mellows of love for Sri Sri Radha-Krishna.

He purely walked on the path taught by Sri Chaitanya. He was the incarnation of the peerless nectar of spiritual love.

He is appropriately affectionate to all the vai navas according to their position. His pure fame is manifest all over the world.

In Vrindavan he is the gopi Madhumati, who is Sri Radha's dear friend and who is a great reservoir of sweetness.

In Kali-yuga he became Narahari, the intimate associate of Gauranga. He is perfectly qualified to taste the great reservoir of ecstatic love for Sri Sri Radha-Krishna.

Srila Thakur Bhaktivinode has mentioned Narahari Sarkar in the tenth line of his Gaura- ārati song, narahari-ādi kori' cāmara hulāya — Narahari Sarkar and other associates of Lord Chaitanya fan him with cāmaras. Narahari was both a singer and a poet. It's said that he was writing poems about Radha Krishna even before he met Mahaprabhu. He is con-sidered by many scholars to be the first per-son to write songs about the pastimes of Lord Gauranga. His poems are often confused with those of Narahari Chakravarti, the author of Bhakti-ratnākara, both of whom often signed their poems as "Narahari". Most of the songs composed by Narahari Sarkar were in Bengali. However, he was also expert in Sanskrit and was the author of a number of books.

Grihastha life after 50

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna
All glories to Swami Gaurangapada!
All glories to Srilla Prabhupada!

I found on many places in Srilla Prabhupada's purports that ideal householder should retire from his material duties when he reach 50 years, fully engage in devotional service, live on holy place, absorb in Naam, preach and on that way make his life perfect.

Some devotees think that this is not suitable for this modern age and they are giving example of Srilla Bhaktivinoda Thakura.

Is it all right for grhastha to have such desire (simultaneously not neglecting family/material duties but accepting them)? Family life is in touch with constant earning money, daily job, management etc. In such atmosphere it is harder for ordinary person to make spiritual progress. Also to support family he or she in modern times must work many more hours then before, and when working hours are over there are small amount of time for serious spiritual activities.

Such position is like burning cage - it is burning everywhere, but person can not escape! What should person do in such case?

It may or not be relate with this topic, I just remembered Lord Gauranga who abandoned his grhastha life in very young age. His wife could not tolerate pain of separation but He took sanyas anyway. What is significance for us in this lila?

I can practically see that there is no end in material entanglement of this world. Desires of relatives, neighbors, friends etc. can never become fully satisfied by any material means. I am working very very hard for past seven months, almost whole day to secure existence for my family and to fulfill different duties and obligations best I can. There is no varnasrama or support of community and more or less we are like aliens in sense-gratification community. It is hard battle for existence.

When person is starting to make some spiritual progress materially absorbed persons can not understand that. They think that we are crazy. So in this insane environment it is hard to dedicate fully to spiritual practice. Devotees like me are in great need of sanga, community support, etc. Internet is giving us some possibility for that, yet it is not enough. Anyway I just wanted to describe thinking of aspiring devotee flamed in burning cage.

Basic question was about leaving family life after 50. Please share and elaborate about this topic.

Mercy of Lord Nityananda Balarama

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna
All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All glories to Srilla Prabhupada!

Only by mercy of Lord Nityananda Balarama we can approach Lord Gauranga Krsna. Srilla Prabhupada is telling us this fact as follows:

"Sri Rama, or Balarama, is the protector of the devotees of the Lord. Baladeva acts as the spiritual master of all devotees, and by His causeless mercy the fallen souls are delivered. Sri Baladeva appeared as Sri Nityananda Prabhu during the advent of Lord Caitanya, and the great Lord Nityananda Prabhu exhibited His causeless mercy by delivering a pair of extremely fallen souls, namely Jagai and Madhai. Therefore it is particularly mentioned herein that Balarama is the protector of the devotees of the Lord. By His divine grace only one can approach the Supreme Lord Sri Krsna, and thus Sri Balarama is the mercy incarnation of the Lord, manifested as the spiritual master, the savior of the pure devotees."

Body is Krishna color surrounded by Gauranga color

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranams! In order to facilitate to never forget Lord Gauranga Krishna, even while browsing NITAAI.com, I have changed the color of the body of the site to the fresh monsoon cloud blackish blue color which very closely resembles the color of Lord Krishna's divine body. And the surrounding header, sidebar and footer color has been changed to something close to golden yellow, the color of Lord Gauranga's and Shrimati Radha's divine body.

Antar krishnam bhair gauram..."The Lord of Kali Yuga Gauranga is blackish blue inside as He is Lord Krishna but golden outside with the mood of Shrimati Radha." So our site is also now blackish blue inside and covered by the golden color.

Much more important than the proper use of colors, is the fact that
everything should remind us of Lord Gauranga Krishna otherwise it is
not for our permanent benefit. So even though this color combination may not be the best and materially most attractive, it should immediately remind us of Lord Gaurahari. Then it is of real use for our soul.

Thus, I hope all of you will remember the Supreme Lord Krishna while seeing this color combination as you browse NITAAI.com. Comments welcome.

Daaso'smi, Swami Gaurangapada.

Search Google and Yahoo at Once

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranams! An useful site is Polycola.com where you can search Google and Yahoo at once and the results will open in two frames in the same tab so that you can compare the results side-by-side. You can add PolyCola to your Firefox search bar. You can also select any other two search engines. Some Yahoo Search does give some different and more relevant search results than Google so this can be useful for that.

PolyCola.com

Another tool by which you can also visit (quick full preview) each website in your search results within a frame simply by expand and collapse without opening the site in another tab is the BetterSearch addon to Firefox.

Pancha Tattva Naam Should Never be Neglected

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranams! Some devotees find it difficult to sing the longer Pancha Tattva Mantra in the normal and basic tunes in which we sing the Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna Mantrarajas since the Pancha Tattva Mantra has more syllables in the second line and thus the Mantra does not fit in normal kirtana tunes like the famous Swami tune of Shrila Prabhupada. Thus, they directly begin the kirtana with the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. But the Pancha Tattva Mantra and the Names of the Pancha Tattva should never be neglected in the beginning of any Naam Sankirtana or Naam Japa otherwise the Hare Krishna Naam may not yield the desired benefits. To remind everyone, the Pancha Tattva Mantra is as follows:

shri krishna chaitanya, prabhu nityaananda
shri advaita gadaadhara shrivaasaadi gaura bhakta vrinda

If the Pancha Tattva Mantra does not fit in the Naam Kirtana tune which is going to be sung, it should still be vocally recited (chanted without music) audibly three times or at least one time before beginning the chanting of the kirtana of even Nityananda Gauranga Naam and of course Hari Naam. The Pancha Tattva Mantra contains the remembrance of the most merciful Gaura Bhakta Vrinda by whose mercy we chant the Holy Name of Nityananda. And by the mercy of Nityananda Naam, we are able to vibrate Gauranga Naam. And by the mercy of all these Naam, we are finally able to utter the Hare Krishna Mahamantra in a pure offenseless manner.

In addition (not replacement) to chanting the Pancha Tattva Mantra, those devotees who want to sing the kirtana of all the Holy Names of the Pancha Tattva even more frequently in the normal Naam kirtana tunes in which the Pancha Tattva Mantra does not fit can sing the Pancha Tattva Stava which is the first verse of the Nityananda Gauranga Naam Mahima Mahastotra. The Pancha Tattva Stava is based on the verses of Shri Chaitanya Charitamrita. It can easily be sung in all the tunes in which sing Nityananda, Gauranga and the Hare Krishna Mantras are normally sung. It is as follows:

shri gauraanga nityaananda, advaita chandra
gadaadhara shrivaasaadi, gaura bhakta vrinda

Thus, by the help of these two, Pancha Tattva Mantra and Pancha Tattva Stava, the Holy Names of the most magnanimous Pancha Tattva should always be sung and remembered before commencing any kind of Naam Bhajana (including Nityananda Gauranga Naam Bhajana) to remove all kinds of  inauspiciousness. Please note, however, that the Pancha Tattva Stava does not replace the Pancha Tattva Mantra in any way. It is only a recommended complementary addition for those devotees who want to sing the Holy Names of Pancha Tattva in the normal and simple kirtana tunes. It is mandatory to chant or sing the Pancha Tattva Mantra in the beginning of Naam Bhajana irrespective of whether you are later going to sing the Pancha Tattva Stava or not since the Pancha Tattva Mantra is said to be given to us by Shrila Jagannatha Dasa Babaji himself. Chanting of the Pancha Tattva Stava is not mandatory and it is up to the devotee who is performing bhajana or kirtana to sing it or not.

Daaso'smi, Swami Gaurangapada.

Who is a devotee?

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

This is something my sister said to me when I asked 'who is a devotee?', I thought I would share it here because it inspired me so much.

"Who is a devotee? A devotee is a most humble servant of the lord and thinks he's most insignificant, he serves the lord and his devotees always and loves everyone because the Lord is in the heart of everyone. He always wants to save the fallen souls because it hurts him when they suffer and fall in maya thinking they are happy. He just wants to end their pain and take them home to his father- Sri Krsna. In a nutshell that is who a devotee is ;)

Shrila Bhaktivinode Thankura, Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura, Shrila Prabhupada all of them, this was their life, this is why they came here this was their mission. They love us so much although they don't know us actually they did know us more than anyone. They are Krsna's soldiers, Caitanya Mahaprabhu's soldiers.

Shrila Prabhupada slept two hours he was over 70 years old...at his last breath he translated Srimad Bhagavatam. He was never ever affected by the modes of material nature, maya could never touch him, his eyes was closed and he translated Srimad Bhagavatam to the end...he always taught of Sri Krsna. He is Sri Radhe's most confidential servant, She is always with him. Caitanya Mahaprabh choose him. ..even now and in time to come, I am not and would not be able to understand his love for us. Its beyond my understanding, I dont know why a person would care for us so much. They say More merciful than Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is Sri Nityananda but even more merciful than sri Nityananda is Srila Prabhupada. I owe my life and soul to Srila Prabhupada. He is a devotee :)

He gave up everything for us left and came here for us, gave us lord Jagannath. Every year at Ratha Yatra
I always thank him, because of him we have Lord Jagannath and Ratha Yatra, that was lost in India but he gave us, He gave Lord Jagannath to us. The last time he visited the west he was ill and they took him to Ratha Yatra he was sitting on the cart and he got up and started dancing so much, everyone was concerned for his health but he danced so much he got so much energy to dance and sing, everybody was amazed :)

Again...Krsna's pure devotee is never affected by modes of material nature, he is not the body and he showed everyone that. Like Srila Jaggannath das babaji, he was 147 years old i think? He couldn't walk they had to put him in a basket and carry him round but he jumped out of the basket and started dancing when they found Caitanya Mahaprabhu's birthplace ;)..."

Jaya Gaurahariii! Jaya Nityananda Raama! Jaya Gaura bhakta vrinda!

Shri Shriman Nityananda Dvadashakam

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!
All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All glories to Srilla Prabhupada!

Here is beautiful poem by Srila Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhar Dev Goswami Maharaja about Lord Nityananda! dhana mora nityananda...

Sri-Sriman-Nityananda-dvadasakam

Twelve prayers revealing the ontological position of
Lord Nityananda as mentioned in the Vedic scriptures.
by Srila Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhar Dev Goswami Maharaja

Verse 1

yo 'nanto 'nanta-vaktrair niravadhi hari-samkirtanam samvidhatte
yo va dhatte dharitrim sirasi niravadhi ksudra-dhuli kaneva
yah sesas-chatra-sayasana-vasana-vidhaih sevate te yad-arthah
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna-pradam tam

Lord Nityananda's representation as Ananta Sesa possesses unlimited mouths which propagate and glorify Lord Hari's holy names and attributes. Ananta Sesa constantly holds the weight of the Earth planet upon His innumerable hoods as if it were an insignificant particle of dust. Ananta Sesa serves the Lord in various capacities, manifesting as the Lord's personal umbrella, resting place, and clothing. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 2

amsair yah ksirasayi sakala bhuvanapah sarva jivantarastho
yo va garbhodasayi dasa-sata-vadano veda-suktair vigitah
bramandasesa garbha prakrti-pati-patir jiva-sanghasrayangah
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradarh tam

Lord Nityananda's partial manifestation as Ksirodakasayi Visnu functions as the preservation principle of the entire universal creation, and is localized within every soul (Paramatma). Another eminent expansion of Lord Nityananda is Garbhodakasayi Visnu, that all-imposing figure whose thousands of heads are eulogized in the Vedic orations. Lord Nityananda's presence is further extended in His expansion as Karanodasayi Visnu, the supplying principle encompassing unlimited universes. Lord Nityananda is the master of the Lord of material nature, Karanodasayi Visnu, who is the shelter of all living entities. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 3

yasyamso vyuha-madhye vilasati parama vyomni samkarsanakhya
atanvan suddha-sattvam nikhila hari-sukham cetanam lilaya ca
jivahankara bhavaspada iti kathitah kutracij-jivavad yah
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna-pradam tam

Lord Nityananda's presence is further extended within the spiritual abode of Vaikuntha in His partial manifestation known as Sankarsana. In Vaikuntha, Lord Sankarsana performs spiritual pastimes which are fully transcendental, situated in pure goodness, and all-pleasing to Lord Hari. As mentioned in the revealed scriptures, Lord Nityananda is the individual temperament of ego existing within the living entity, and He sometimes appears just like an ordinary living entity. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 4

yascadi vyuha-madhye prabhavati sagano mula-sankarsanakhyo
dvaravatyam tad-urdhe madhupuri vasati prabhavakhyo vilasah
sarvamsirama-nama vrajapuri ramate sanujo yah svarupe
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

Lord Nityananda, who is the fountainhead of the primary Sankarsana, exists in full splendor separate from the original quadruple expansion and is known as mula Sankarsana. That all-attractive personality, Sri Sankarsana, performs His wonderful pastimes in the spiritual realm in the regions known as Mathura and Dvaraka. The transcendental city of Dvaraka is situated just below the city of Mathura. It is in these spiritual places that Lord Sankarsana and His associates Aniruddha and Pradyumna exhibit Their particular pastimes scripturally known as prabhava-vilasah. Nityananda Prabhu in the form of Lord Balarama is the ultimate source of all incarnations, and sportively plays in the charming village of Vrajapura with His younger brother Lord Krsna. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 5

sri-krsna prema namaparama sukha-mayah ko'pyacintyah padartho
yad gandhat sajjanaugha nigama bahumatam moksam apyaksipanti
kaivalyaisvarya seva pradagana iti yasyangatah premadatuh
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

Pure unalloyed love for Lord Krsna, which is inconceivable to all, embodies the most supreme and intense happiness. When the devotees of the Lord realize the joy of such love, they cast away the innumerable doctrines offered by the Vedas, including the soul's emancipation. Lord Nityananda openly bestows pure love, automatically including worship of the non-differentiated Brahman and service offered in Vaikuntha, which is dominated by opulence and grandeur. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 6

yo balye lilayaikah parama-mudhuraya caikacakra-nagaryam
mata pitror jananamatha nija-suhrdam hladayams citta-cakram
tirthan babhrama sarvan upahrta janako nyasina prarthitas ca
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

When Nityananda Prabhu was a small boy, He performed sweet and charming pastimes in the village of Ekacakra. His pastimes invoked the deepest heartfelt happiness in His mother, father, relatives, and close friends. Once a renunciate arrived at the house of Nityananda Prabhu and prayed to the boy's father for his son. Lord Nityananda was placed in the hands of the renunciate and left to visit the holy places of pilgrimage, wandering throughout the length and breadth of India. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 7

bhramam bhraman ca tirthan yati-mukuta-mani madhavendra prasangat
labdhollasah pratiksya prakatita caritam gaura dhamajagama
sri-gaurah srinivasadibhir api yamavapalaye nandanasya
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

Nityananda travelled from place to place with the crest jewel of the renounced order, Sri Madhavendra Puri. In the pure association of Madhavendra Puri, Lord Nityananda experienced the most joyful symptoms of ecstasy. After this, the Lord journeyed to Navadvipa, where He eagerly waited for Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to reveal His benevolent nature to the world. Shortly following Nityananda's arrival, Lord Caitanyadeva Himself, in the company of Srinivasa Pandita and Haridasa Thakura, went to the house of Sri Nandanacarya and found Nitai there. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 8

praptajno gaura-candrad akhila jana ganoddhara nama pradane
yah prapya dvau surapau kali kalusa-hatau bhratarau brahma-daityau
gadha-prema prakasaih krta-nidhira-vapus capi tav-ujjahara
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

Nityananda Prabhu was ordered by that golden moon, Sriman Mahaprabhu, to deliver the masses by the wide distribution of Lord Krsna's holy names. One evening, Lord Nityananda encountered those two drunken and sinful brothers, Jagai and Madhai, who were previously brahma-daitya demons of the first order, acting under the devastating spell of Kali-yuga. Suddenly, Nitai was attacked by Madhai, whereupon His body became smeared with blood. In response, Lord Nitai exhibited deep affection for the welfare of the two brothers and rescued them from their abominable condition. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 9

saksad gauro gananam sirasi yad avadhutasya kaupiha-khandam
samdhartun cadidesasava yavana vadhu sprsta-drsto 'pi vandyah
brahmadyanam apiti prabhu-panhrtakanam api svesta-pithah
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

Lord Gauranga instructed His family members and followers to wear pieces of Lord Nityananda's kaupina respectfully on their bodies. So pure and impeccable is the character of Nitai that even if He is seen holding the hand of a Muslim's wife and carrying a bottle of wine, nonetheless He remains supremely worshippable by the great demigods such as Lord Brahma. Lord Nityananda is also the desirable object of those exalted devotees who can steal away the heart of the Lord. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 10

uddhartumjnana-karmady-apahata-cantan gaura-candro yadasau
nyasam krtva tu maya mrgam anusrtavan grahayan krsna-nama
tac-chayevanvadhavat sthala-jala-gahane yo 'pi tasyesta-cestah
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

Accepting the renounced order of life and distributing the Lord's holy names, Lord Gauranga chased after those souls who had been spoiled by the doctrines of dry argumentative logic and motivated fruitive activity. Like Lord Gauranga's own shadow, Nitai Prabhu accompanied the Lord over land and through rivers, waterways, and jungles. In addition, Lord Nityananda is the desired goal of all Gaurangadeva's endeavors. Let us eternally worship that grand personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who can freely grant the association of that golden Lord Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 11

sri-radha prema-lubdho divasa-nisitadasvada-mattaika lilo
gauro yan-cadidesa svaparikaravrtam krsna nama-pradatum
gaude 'vadham dadau yah subhaga-gana-dhanam gaura-nama-prakamam
sri-nityananda-candram bhaja bhaja satatam gaura-krsna pradam tam

Day and night Lord Caitanya was intoxicated with the intense desire to taste the sweetness of Sri Radhika's divine love for Sri Krsna. Sriman Mahaprabhu instructed Lord Nityananda and His associates to go out and profusely distribute the holy names of Lord Krsna. However, Lord Nityananda instead plentifully distributed Lord Gauranga's name, the most precious fortune available to the living entities, with no impediment at all. Let us eternally worship that great personality Sri Nityanandacandra, who freely grants the association of Sri Gaurangadeva, who is none other than Lord Krsna.

Verse 12

sri-radha krsna-lila rasa-madhura-sudhasvada-suddhaika-murtau
gaure sraddham drdham bho prabhu-parikara-samrat prayacchadhame 'smin
ullanghyanghrim hi yasyakhila-bhajana-katha svapnavac caiva mithya
sri-nityananda-candram patita saranadam gauradam tam bhaje 'ham

0 Nityananda Prabhu, emperor amidst the personal associates of Sriman Mahaprabhu! Kindly grant this fallen soul deep and resolute faith in that pure and divine figure of Sri Gauranga. Lord Gauranga's personality exclusively embodies the sweet nectar relished deep within the devotional mellows of Sri Sri Radha-Krsna's pastimes. But if Your lotus feet are overlooked, then all so-called devotional orations and prayers meant for the highest worship become false, like a dream. I worship You, that great personality Nityanandacandra, who openly bestows shelter to the most fallen souls, freely granting the association of Sri Gaurangadeva.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

Daaso'smi, Bhakta Igor.

Krishna as father and Dasya Rasa

Dear Swami Gaurangapada Gurudeva,
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances.

While reading the last chapter of Shri Chaitanya Bhagavata, Adi-khanda, I encountered a statement about dasya-rasa by Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada which I don't understand so well:

"Being situated in the mood of pure dasya-rasa as a servant of Krishna, the Lord considered Krishna as His father and Himself as the son and began to speak as follows: "O father, Krishna, You are My life and soul. Where did You go after stealing My heart? I have become overwhelmed by not finding the object stolen by You. But I have certainly understood that the same thief who has stolen My heart is My maintainer and protector." (CB 1.17.116 purport)

Does addressing Lord Gauranga Krishna as 'father' belong to the dasya-rasa, servitorship?

Thank You very much.

Yours, Matus

Pure disciples of Thakura Vrindavana

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Dear Swami Gaurangapada, dear devotees and guests,

Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura describes the nature of the genuine devotees of Lord Nityananda and followers of Shrila Vrindavana dasa Thakura in His purport to Chaitanya Bhagavata, Adi-khanda, Chapter 17, Verse 160:

"O Lord, I may take birth in any species of life, but please be merciful that I may remain Your servant. Moreover, O Lord, since You do not engage in any activity other than glorifying the qualities of Mahaprabhu, may I, as Your most insignificant servant, constantly engage in assisting a little in Your service." Presently the transcendental Vaishnavas who live in the mathas as members of the Vishva-vaishnava Raja-sabha have abandoned all varieties of material activities and are following in the footsteps of Nityananda Svarupa in order to glorify the qualities of Gaurachandra. They alone are the genuine, pure disciples of Thakura Vrindavana. For this reason sinful persons who are victims of the age of Kali and averse to such disciples are certainly sinful and on the path to hell.

Which mathas is His Divine Grace talking about in this purport? What does 'Vishva-vaishnava Raja-sabha' mean? Could His Holiness Swami Gaurangapada Maharaja please explain little more about these vaishnavas?

Thank You very much.

Yours truly,
Matus
