Some questions on the Lord's powers and tough times

Dear Vaisnavas,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! My humble pranams!

I have a few questions which I humbly request you all to clarify.

1)Please educate me about the things which ONLY THE LORD can do. I refer to activities or powers or potencies or anything that is exclusive to the Lord alone and which cannot be done by anyone else. I want to know a little about these things. In the Lord's manifest pastimes, there are many miraculous incidents that occurred. But among those things, there are certain incidents which only the Lord is capable of enacting and which others, not even Lord Brahma or Lord Siva are capable of.

2)These days it has become a fashion for fake 'avatars' to declare themselves God by imitating His activities by doing some mystic siddhis, or by surprising people by knowing things which only they know, pretending to be omniscient, etc. Please tell me one thing which all these people cannot do that will expose their fraudulent claims of being 'incarnations'.

        3) Now-a-days if I go wrong somewhere, it is as though people are just waiting to pounce and say, "Look, this guy's a devotee and he does these things, etc..etc. They sometimes curse us heavily for our mistakes." It becomes very disheartening at times. We feel, "What's the use? Am I always going to remain like this. Is my chanting all for nothing?" I have asked this question in private, but I would like to put it up on the forum too and hear your guidance.

3)When one is being exposed to all types of Mayavada philosophy and put under pressure to accept, how can we stand our ground? If I were to say anything, they would say that I was only a kid, teenage rebel,  upstart and I had no qualifications, I had no good habits, no good character, made so many mistakes, ungrateful, and that I don't have any right to talk.

This is like we are dragged to the impersonal or atheistic altar and forced to bow down to the Mayavada philosophy. Whenever these philosophers come, they make my life and the life of my friends miserable as our near and dear ones go and listen and then come back and force us or ridicule our practice, and if we object we have to hear all blasphemy of devotees, and we are labelled as 'brainwashed' and everything gets banned and we have to do everything underground. Everyone moans that it is their cursed fate and that we are going to ruin everyone's happiness. We also are not allowed to say a word to even tell our position.

Now when it reaches breaking point, it has aroused my anger and sometimes I feel that these philosophies must be beaten to ashes and chopped up. I however always feel very sorry for all those atheists and that they must somehow be saved from the danger they are inviting. How can I deal with this situation in the interests of myself and those around me?

Inquisitive to ask some spiritual questions for all beginners,
Srinath

Re: Sanskrit Phonetics

Dear Bhaktatommy,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Please accept my obeisances! The word 'ca' is pronounced like 'cha' as in charge, or chaitanya. Here's an audio of the sloka pronunciation.

Vrindavana dasa Thakura--O my mind, please chant name of Nityananda

A song by Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura
mana nityananda bali daka
emana dayala prabhu ara na paibe kabhu
hridaya kamale kari rakha
kiba se madura lila natana kirtana kala
atiba ganbhira avatara
apanara gupudhane ani martte kari dane
trana kaila e tina samsara
parasa manira gune tuccha lage mora mane
lei parasile hema kare
nitai caitanya gune gana kare katajane
ratana haila ghare ghare
amode baliya hari nama sankirtana kari
premabese pade lotaiya
kahe vrindavana dasa emata karila asa
banchita rahinu abhagiya
O my mind, please chant the name of Nityananda.
Youll never get such a merciful Lord again.
Keep Him within the lotus of your heart.
His sweet pastimes of chanting and dancing are wonderful.
Hes the most merciful avatara.
He distributed His hidden treasure to everyone.
He thus delivered the three worlds.
The touchstones quality of turning iron into gold seems insignificant to me.
But many persons glorify the qualities of Nitai-Caitanya.
They made jewels in every house.
I happily do hari-nama-sankirtana
I roll on the ground in ecstatic prema.
Vrindavana dasa says I desire Their lotus feet since Im the most unfortunate.
