Re: Fictional work and Krishna Conciousness

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Thanks Truthseeker for Your interesting question. While reading it i remembered some interesting statement of His Holiness Shrila Shridhara Maharaja regarding this matter, which is to be found in His book "Subjective Evolution of Consciousness, Chapter 1":

"... In his Jaiva Dharma, Bhaktivinoda Thakura has created so many characters, but I think that they are not imaginary. What he has written might have occurred during some other millennium (kalpa), or day of Brahma, and that has now come to the surface. In this way I went on to support the cosmological position of the Bhagavatam by arguing that what is necessary to prove reality must also have some real position. It cannot but be."

Maybe this holds true also in the case of Shrila Sanatana Goswami and our other Acharyas...

Thank You very much.

Yours, Matus

Fictional work and Krishna Conciousness

Nityaananda!!! Gauranga!!!Hare Krishna!!!All glories to Srila Prabhupad and the Gurus.

Dear Swamiji,

Is Brhd Bhagavatamrta by Sanatan Goswami a work of fiction or is it historical? I am just curious.

Also is fictional work allowed in Krsna conciousness? I mean can someone with a good story writing talent write work of fiction which is full of Krishna conciousness.

Also in Krishna conciousness what do devotees do for entertainment and relaxation? I am asking this since I am somewhat addicted to watching good movies which make me think. But I dont feel good to involve myself in non-devotional activities. I know for some advanced devotees the process of chanting itself is an entertainment and a way of relaxing. But for neophytes in the begining who dont have a spontaneous attachement for the holy names, what are the entertaining ways so that they feel relaxed and at the same time it is related to Krishna conciousness.

Sometimes I entertain myself by listening to kirtan by other devotees and participating in congregational kirtan. I want to know more ways. Kindly reply.  Haribol. --y.s. truthseeker.
