Re: My Introductions

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

Dear Swami Gaurangapada and assembled devotees,

please accept my simple obiesances.

The world is in a bad position right now and this gives us a good opportunity to really seek shelter of the Lord and his devotees. post by JagGaura

Yes I agree here Jagannatha Prabhu, association of those who really understand the goal of life is so rare. As Srila Prabhupada has said, 'the majority of the world's population is influenced by the mode of passion.' It is such a rare opportunity to meet devotees (like Srila Gaurangapada) who are in constant devotional service.  Wherever we can find shelter we must go.

What do you pray for?

What do you pray for?  is it for your family friends, loved ones.

Maybe you pray to get rich, have a good job; a good education.

Dont be selfish when you pray.

Did any one teach you how to pray in the proper way.

Listen up all you people according to the Sri Bhagavad Gita which was spoken by God Himself.(this is a scripture more then 5,000 years old)

First you give up all religious dogmas and so called purgatory
18chp txt 65  God said
Totally abandoning all kinds of religion, surrender exclusively unto Me. I will liberate you from all kinds of sins, so do not despair.
This is how you serve God and respect Him:

18 ch txt 65 God said
Think of Me, serve Me, worship Me, offer your very self unto Me, and surely you will reach Me. Sincerely, this is My promise to you because you are My dear friend.
9 chap txt26)  God said
Certainly, if he offers Me with devotion a leaf, flower, fruit, and water, I partake of that whole offering from such a purehearted and affectionate devotee of Mine. With heartfelt love, I graciously accept.

9chap txt27)  God said
O Kaunteya, whatever your action whether general or scriptural, whatever you eat, what you offer in sacrifice, whatever you donate in charity, and any vow you keep do everything as an offering unto Me.

Just chanting Gods holy name one will be free from purgatory.

9 chap txt14) God said
Disregarding the purity or impurity of time, place, and circumstances, those great souls are constantly absorbed in singing or narrating the glories of My holy name, form, qualities, pastimes, and paraphernalia. They are attentive to the irrevocable and conclusive definition of My nature, personality, and expansions, and they strictly follow the rules and regulations for taking the holy name and observing holy days such as Ekadasi. (fast days )
Following all the practices of devotion beginning with offering obeisances unto Me, the devotees, earnestly longing for their eternal relationship with Me in the future, worship Me by the path of engaging in My transcendental devotional service.

Japa timing

Dear Swamiji,

Nityananda ! Gauranga ! Hare Krishna !

After the end of September due to heavy work schedule I will be able to chant 2 hrs of my japa only in the afternoon from 2-4 pm. Is this time ok and if I chant at this time then will I get less benefit compared to devotees who chant early in the morning ? If this time is not very powerful then does that mean my progress will be extremely slow ?

Sincerely,

Mihir.

Re: Flouridation of water?

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Dandavats and obeissances.

United States has been putting fluoride in water for i think over 50 years I beleive. Hitler was the first to place fluoride in drinking water because it acts as a neurotoxin that dulls the brain and makes people easier to control. It is a waste product of the aluminum industry. Chlorine is very bad to ingest also. Anyway I have been using a  filter on my drinking water that gets most of the fluoride out of it and all the chlorine and other contaminents. The only way to get all the fluoride out is to get a reverse osmosis system in your house but this also kills all the healthy minerals in the water. Plastic bottled water is not healthy either because the plastic can leach into the water. Also a shower filter is good to get rid of these contaminents that enter through your skin and from the vapors we breathe. Chlorine vapors really damage the lungs.

Here is the website to the filtes I posses: http://www.waterus.com/

Sincerely

Jagannatha Gauranga dasa

Dandavats and obeissanes.

It's good to see you searching after the Absolute. You came to the right place as Swami Gaurangapada is very dear to the Lord. He is very kind and merciful so take advantage of his site. I would start chanting Nityananda and Gauranga on beads whenever you can and read books in NitaaiVeda as Nava has stated, especially those written by Swami Gaurangapada and Srila Prabhupada. The world is in a bad position right now and this gives us a good opportunity to really seek shelter of the Lord and his devotees.

Re: My Introductions

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

This verse is worth noting for deep contemplation - ongoingly. Through the purification of Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna Naam Yoga, all truth of it will arise in the heart spontaneously. Of special note in this commentary, it is stated that mundane logic cannot reveal the truth of the matter. And also it says this:

...one who understands the eternal nature of My birth and activities with theistic intelligence-that is, who is not dependent on empiricism to accept it-does not have to take birth again in this material world.

Ch 4 Verse 9 here

janma karma ca me divyam / evam yo vetti tattvatah
tyaktva deham punar janma / naiti mam eti so ’rjuna

Click here to read Shrila Prabhupada's Bhagavad Gita As It Is 4.9 <http://www.bhagavadgitaasitis.com/4/9/en>

arjuna---O Arjuna; me---My; janma---birth; ca---and; karma--- activities; (are) divyam---transcendental; (one) yah---who; vetti--- knows; evam---thus; tattvatah---in truth; tyaktva---having given up; deham---the body; na eti---does not accept; punah---again; janma---(re) birth; sah---he; eti.comes; mam---to Me.

O Arjuna! My birth and activities are transcendental. One who knows this in truth does not take another birth after giving up the present body. He certainly attains Me.

SARARTHA-VARShINI
BY ShRILA VIShVANATHA CAKRAVARTI THAKURA

"One will only become perfect when he has understood the essence of the transcendental nature of My birth (janma) and activities (karma), which are endowed with the characteristics described in the previous shlokas." This shloka, beginning with the word janma, is spoken to explain this. Shripada Ramanujacarya and Shripada Madhusudana Sarasvati explain that the word divya means aprakrita, transcendental, and Shrila Shridhara Svami has translated it as alaukika, not of this material world. The material world is created by prakriti (material nature), thus by the word alaukika Shrila Shridhara Svamipada also implies aprakrita. Consequently, because the birth and activities of Shri Bhagavan are aprakrita and beyond the modes, they are nitya (eternal). In the Bhagavat-sandarbha, Shrila Jiva Gosvami refers to this present subject in his explanation of the shloka: na vidyate yasya ca janma karma va (Shrimad-Bhagavatam (8.3.8)). He explains that, although this matter cannot be comprehended by logic, on the strength of statements from the Vedas and Smriti it must be accepted as being beyond reason. In this regard, it is also said in the Purusha-bodhini shruti of Piplada-shakha:

eko deva nitya-lilanurakto / bhakta-hridy antar-atma

Eternally engaged in His pastimes, the one Lord in His form of Antaryami enters within the hearts of His bhaktas. Regarding the eternality of Shri Bhagavan's birth and activities (janma and karma), detailed descriptions have been given in Shrimad-Bhagavatam. "After hearing My statements such as: yo vetti tattvatah (Gita 4.9), ajo 'pi sann avyayatma (Gita 4.6) and janma karma ca me divyam (Gita 4.9), one who understands the eternal nature of My birth and activities with theistic intelligence-that is, who is not dependent on empiricism to accept it-does not have to take birth again in this material world."

"Those who in truth understand the word tat in the statement of Gita (17.23)-om tat sad iti nirdesho brahmanas trividha h smritah to mean brahma do not have to take birth again after giving up their present body. Rather, it is assured that they attain Me." Here Bhagavan gives a superior meaning to the phrase 'giving up the body'. "Such a person does not take another birth after giving up the body. Rather, he attains Me even without giving it up."

Shripada Ramanujacarya writes paraphrasing Krishna, "All sins that impede one on the path to attain My full shelter are completely destroyed by true knowledge of My transcendental birth and activities. Only those dear devotees who have taken shelter of Me, attain Me even in this very life."

Gradually following a set process of the spiritual teacher, such as Swami Gaurangapada, Srila Prabhupada etc, we will awaken to the transcendental knowledge hinted to. Hearing submissively, will all humility...has been the vedic process millenium after millenium. The perfect example of surrender being Arjuna.

Mundane logic can never acertain the transcendental reality. But Sri Krsna quickly reciprocates with one who follows the bhakti path.

aspiring service, your friend...Nava.

Re: My Introductions

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

Dear Candace, please accept my simple obiesances.

Welcome! One thing that is deepening my understanding of what actually is the Inconceivable Absolute , is the  hearing process. Swami Gaurangapada has offered a diverse range of sacred texts, covering many topics, all in one place for easier access. The writings are available throughtout the net, but not compiled in such an easily accessable way as this:

http://nitaaiveda.com

Daily study will rapidly awaken us.

Several books that are bringing much joy to my heart presently are the Krsna Book trilogy, by Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Maharaja here here and here, and also the Vedanta Sutra Commentary by Baladeva Vidyabushana found here. Srimad Bhagavatam is actually commentary on Vedanta, but Vidyabhushana wrote his commentary on Vedanta Sutra to glorify the exalted position of Sri Gaudiya Parampara, as a bona-fide lineage of Vaisnavism. Thus glorifying the sweet worship of Sri Sri Radha Krsna and Sri Gauranga.

What I am finding in studying these four books, is a complete picture of what truth is, and the process of awakening to it.

Srila Prabhupada and our acarayas have recommended a gradual step by step process of realization. For example, Srila Prabhupada has said that if one goes directly to the 10th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam, he/she may only see something material. This implies that there is something hidden from the materialistic observer. There he has recommended to take a step by step, canto by canto, approach. Then when we get to the 10th canto, we will understand.

Infact, Srila Gaurangapada, out of merciful motivation, has followed the injunction of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada - recommending us to study, in depth, Sri Caitanya Bhagavata here. Sri Caitanya Bhagavata is non-different to Srimad Bhagavatam, as per the acarayas. In fact Candace, Caitanya Bhagavata is full and rich of esoteric bhakti. If one can relish that hidden bhakti, his or her path is sure!

This is the glory of Sri Caitanya and Sri Nityananda Incarnation. They do not take our offences into consideration. Our offences block the truth of Sri Sri Radha-Krsna appearing in our hearts (that land is pure). Sri Sri Gaura-Nitaai rapidly cleanse the heart. As our hearts become cleansed in service to these two great personalities, the happiness only magnifies, culminating in service to Sri Sri Radha-Krsna.

For your keen interest in discovering what Absloute Truth is, and what this rare gift of human birth entails, I can thoroughly recommend the processes outlined at the online Nitaai Sangha community, such as Nitaai Veda, Nityananda Gauranga Naam Book, and the Forums, Videos etc.

Good things take care, cultivation, and time. Watering the plant of devotion through the Holy Names (which is non-different to God) allows all things to come into fruition.

your friend and servant...Nava.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

Highly Ecstatic Kirtan

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!

Dear Swamiji and devotees, please accept my humble obeisances.

The following kirtan is highly ecstatic. Please try to listen with headphones and absorb yourself in this one. I was walking down a busy street today while listening to this kirtan. I completely internalized and saw Krishna in the midst of thousands of dancing devotees totally lost in ecstacy while singing Hare Krishna and playing instruments. When the song was over I saw many people looking at me: I was dancing in the middle of the street arms high and spinning around. On the outside I was a little embarrased but on the inside I was one big ocean of happiness.

A dream with a message!

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

Dear Swami Gaurangapada and assembled devotees,

please accept my simple obiesances.

Indeed it is a strange world full of mystery and signs.

Several nights ago I had a dream. I was in this building or hall during a festival (a social event)...it was full of glitter and opulence. One person took me by the hand and accepted me. I was astonished because I am not opulent and the rest of the dealings of the room were based on external dealings. Socializing and opulence. I felt lost like a small child!

There was a gala procession of people on stage, dressed in costumes of various characters - dancing and playing. The adult who took my hand, was mischievous and playful, almost childlike and innocent, not caring for all the glitter. She wished to teach me simplicity and acceptance.

I asked, 'who are you?'. She replied with a gleeful laugh and childlike play, 'my name is Yani!'.

I awoke from the dream, and thought to myself, 'what a strange name is Yani. I have never heard that name before.'

Two days later I was sitting at a local village green where there is a small concert stage (unaware that I was about to see a replay of the gala concert in my dreams). It was a beautiful sunny day and I was in deep contemplation, reading Krsna Book, relishing the pastimes of the boy Krsna and his friends (in simple Vraja).

There was four adults in their early thirties next to me, with their children. Busy in conversation about the world, their careers, their possessions...and how big their houses were! One of them was a doctor, with a pompous voice. I felt love for them.

I was contemplating the way of the world, and the mode of passion. I could sense these peoples dealings with each other were on an external level and that their friendships were somewhat superficial. I could see the hearts of each of them, and the tests and trials in life...as I could see my own heart and the work that needs to be done.

I was contemplating on the need for love of God, and simplicity in honest dealings. Open loving dealings. And the way in which the world values things, and the way in which spirit values things. I could feel the presence of God pervading everything...as if creation (and Creator) wished to speak.

Anyhow, the four adults said their good-byes. One lady and her two children remained, as they packed up their belongings. As I was over- hearing the conversations for the course of one hour, I felt great compassion for this lady ( for which reasons I should not mention).

Her little boy jumped up on the stage, in his 'batman' costume. And turned on a water tap to play. His mother cried out, 'Yani! Yani! Yani!...if you waste water, we will not come here again!'.

Miracles happen everyday, and God speaks to us in numerous ways, if we are ready to hear his message and guidance. I was glad in contemplation my eyes are open to the child-like play of Krsna and his friends. And that Krsna lived in the heart of my small friend Yani. I really hope this boy and his mother find the true lasting peace, which requires nothing of this world.

Australian  (Aboriginal) meaning of the girl´s name Yani:

  • peace

your servant Nava.
