Re: The Process of NITAAI Yoga Summarized

Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna! A new paragraph has been added to NITAAI Japa Kriyaa which is given below. The original essay (post) on the nine kinds of NITAAI Yoga has been almost completed with new additions and language corrections. It will now be in added into in the original essay of NITAAI Yoga in our NITAAI.com home page. Then, this original NITAAI Yoga essay will be edited by an expert English editor for language corrections. After that, manual translations can be done into various languages and if Lord Nitaai desires, it will be published as a small booklet or handout in a few languages. Please let me know if you or anyone you know can help us with proof-reading and editing the original English article. He or she should be quite proficient in English with editorial experience and ideally have English as one's first language.

I am personally quite satisfied that broadly all the important Angas (limbs) of Bhakti are included in these nine Bhakti Kriyaas of NITAAI Yoga known as NITAAI Kriyaas. A new person should now be easily able to grasp how NITAAI Yoga is practically performed, simply by reading these nine Kriyaas. I will be writing detailed essays on each of these nine Kriyaas which photos, animations and videos. Your comments and feedback are welcome and could still be included at this stage in the original essay.

Kriyaa means the dynamic activity of the soul in relation to God. The word Kriyaa is mentioned in the first canto of Shrimad Bhagavatam  (vaasudeva paraa kriyaa). These nine NITAAI Kriyaas are Bhakti or Devotional Kriyaas which are pleasing to the Lord not the dry Kriyaas of Hatha Yoga. Naama Bhakti Yoga is active not passive. One cannot say that one loves God if one is not willing to practically serve and attain Him by practicing at least one of the nine forms of devotional service.

The word "Kriyaa" enables NITAAI Yoga to be a spiritually scientific and universal process for the soul, not a religion or a cult. NITAAI Yoga is the Kriyaa (dynamic activity) of the soul. It comprises of those actions (Kriyaas) which are the means to attain the Supreme Lord Gauraanga Krishna.

Daaso'smi, BRS Swami Gaurangapada.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Thanks for these nice music videos Nava prabhu. You really put a lot of feeling into these and performed them well. I like the  progressions too. You and Bhakta Matus have good talent in this area, so keep playing. It would be nice to see the Nitaai Yoga members work together someday and make more songs.

Re: Alien Abduction or The Wings of Garuda

Bhagavad Gita As It Is 12.12

TEXT 12

śreyo hi jñānam abhyāsāj

jñānād dhyānaṁ viśiṣyate

dhyānāt karma-phala-tyāgas

tyāgāc chāntir anantaram

śreyaḥ—better; hi—certainly; jñānam—knowledge; abhyāsāt—by practice; jnānāt—better than knowledge; dhyānam—meditation; viśiṣyate—especially considered; dhyānāt—from meditation; karma-phala-tyāgaḥ—renunciation of the results of fruitive action; tyāgāt—by such renunciation; śāntiḥ—peace; anantaram—thereafter.

TRANSLATION

If you cannot take to this practice, then engage yourself in the cultivation of knowledge. Better than knowledge, however, is meditation, and better than meditation is renunciation of the fruits of action, for by such renunciation one can attain peace of mind.

PURPORT

As mentioned in the previous verses, there are two kinds of devotional service: the way of regulated principles, and the way of full attachment in love to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. For those who are actually not able to follow the principles of Krsna consciousness, it is better to cultivate knowledge because by knowledge one can be able to understand his real position. Gradually knowledge will develop to the point of meditation. By meditation one can be able to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead by a gradual process. There are processes which make one understand that one himself is the Supreme, and that sort of meditation is preferred if one is unable to engage in devotional service. If one is not able to meditate in such a way, then there are prescribed duties, as enjoined in the Vedic literature, for the brāhmaṇas, vaiśyas, and śūdras, which we shall find in a later chapter of Bhagavad-gītā. But in all cases, one should give up the result or fruits of labor; this means to employ the result of karma for some good cause. In summary, to reach the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the highest goal, there are two processes: one process is by gradual development, and the other process is direct. Devotional service in Krsna consciousness is the direct method, and the other method involves renouncing the fruits of one’s activities. Then one can come to the stage of knowledge, then to the stage of meditation, then to the stage of understanding the Supersoul, and then to the stage of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One may either take the step by step process or the direct path. The direct process is not possible for everyone; therefore the indirect process is also good. It is, however, to be understood that the indirect process is not recommended for Arjuna because he is already at the stage of loving devotional service to the Supreme Lord. It is for others who are not at this state; for them the gradual process of renunciation, knowledge, meditation and realization of the Supersoul and Brahman should be followed. But as far as Bhagavad-gītā is concerned, it is the direct method that is stressed. Everyone is advised to take to the direct method and surrender unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna.

Re: Alien Abduction or The Wings of Garuda

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

*below is the process for Krsna consciousness (devotional service) in relation to the above article. Yesterday's article was the days realization, so I wished to share it with my online friends, in the mood of service. I am convinced after that realization that God is a person.

SRI BHAJAN RAHASYA by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura
2 / DVITIYA-YAAMA-SAADHANA Text 14 (anartha nivrtti in sadhu sangha)

The characteristics of bhakti-yoga are described in Shrimad-
Bhaagavatam (1.2.12 and 1.2.7):

tac chraddadhaanaa munayo
jnaana-vairaagya-yuktayaa
pashyanty aatmani caatmaanam
bhaktyaa shruta-grihitayaa
vaasudeve bhagavati
bhakti-yogah prayojitah
janayaty aashu vairaagyam
jnaanam ca yad ahaitukam

A faithful person, after hearing Shrimad-Bhaagavatam, automatically acquires bhakti endowed with knowledge and renunciation. By such bhakti he realises Bhagavaan’s svarupa in his heart and he realises his relationship with Him. Thus he obtains service to the Lord. When the relationship between the Lord and the living entity is established, bhakti-yoga for Bhagavaan Vaasudeva appears.

shraddhaa kari’ naama bhaje saadhu-kripaa paanaa
itare viraaga nitya-svarupa bujhiyaa
ihaakei bali bhakti-yoga anuttama
bhakti-yoge sarva-siddhi yadi dhare krama

Bhajana-rahasya-vritti (BVNM)
Saadhana of the non-dual Absolute Truth (advaya-jnaana-paratattva) is of three kinds: jnaana, yoga and bhakti. The jnaanis realise Bhagavaan as Brahman on the strength of their cultivation of knowledge. They see tat-padaartha, Bhagavaan,  within their souls (aatmaas), they see their own souls in Ishvara and they also see tam-padaartha, all living entities, in Him. The yogis realise the non-dual object as Paramaatmaa. All attempts made by the jivas to attain renunciation  through the cultivation of dry knowledge are useless. Renunciation (vairaagya) is an inherent result of bhakti and is easily attained through the practice of bhakti-yoga. The bhakti-saadhaka relishes the direct sweetness of the non-dual object on the strength of his devotion. The process of bhakti is to hear  krishna-kathaa from the lotus mouth of the spiritual master. Knowledge endowed  with a sense of one’s relationship with Krishna appears through the process of  bhakti by the means of hearing and chanting. The aacaaryas have ascertained  that the mood of service appears by hearing from authorities. The  impersonalists do not follow this path of hearing, which is the descending path. Rather, they endeavour to take shelter of the doctrine of the ascending path. Their attempts are compared to trying to reach the sky by climbing on falling raindrops. When the living entity is absorbed in service to the object of bhajana and not in any other object, pure bhakti and proper renunciation (yukta-vairaagya) will arise.
