Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna!

Thank you Radhacharan dasa prabhu for your kind appreciation. I can only ask "good" questions but according to the whispers of my intuition you should have awesome realisations about humility, the causeless mercy of Gaur Nitai and the constant chanting of the holy names (harer namanukirtanam).

So, although I certainly lack humility I will humbly request you to share some of your valuable realizations about Naam with the participants in the forum. I remember hearing somewhere (I don't remember where though) that one should not be a kripana (miser) when it comes to sharing spiritual knowledge and realizations.

Re: Nitai-Gauranga's mercy easily obtainable or not?

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

The concrete result of the initial mercy is that we develop faith and attraction for Nitaai Gaura Tattva and thus start desiring to attain the qualification for the ultimate mercy of Lords Nitaai Gaura: deep humility and freedom from bodily consciousness.

Thank You very much.

Humble challenge: Once the initial mercy obtained one can continue with Harinaam bhajan and cultivate the desire for the ultimate mercy that way. Why to continue practicing Nityananda Gauranga Naam Bhajan?

Yours respectfully,
Matus

Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna! Thank you Igor for the nice instructive verse from Shri Chaitanya Charitamrita.

"One maidservant placed betel leaves in Their mouths.

The betel nuts and leaves in the Lord's Pastimes and Goloka are transcendentally pure and not a mundane mild intoxicant like those we find in this material world. Same applies for the divine Varuni beverage also. Even the intoxication in the spiritual pastimes is transcendentally blissful and not harmful like the intoxication in this material world.

Re: Gadadhara's pure ecstatic love in the mood of Rukmini-devi

Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna! This is another proof that the Pastimes of Shri Shri Gaura Gadadhara are not duplication or exact imitation or imitation of Their Pastimes as Shri Shri Radha Krishna. In Madhurya Rasa or a Conjugal relationship, vamya or left-wing bhava (mood) in conducive to increase the ecstasy of the Pastimes of Lord Krishna. When Shrimati Radha refuses to Lord Krishna in a sulky mood, it increases the Lord's bliss specificially in such a relationship of lovers. But this is not the case in the Dasya (mixed with a little Sakhya) Relationship which Shri Gadadhara had with Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu. Here Vamya bhava or the anti-mood is not favorable for the Sankirtana Pastimes. That is why Shrimati Radha accepted the right-wing submissive Saumya mood of Shrimati Rukmini and advented as Shri Gadadhara because this mood is more favorable for the Sankirtana Pastimes. All Associates are order-carriers (not conjugal lovers) of Lord Gaura in the Sankiratana Pastimes so they need to be in this submissive mood.

There is a view which states that since Shri Gadadhara lost his left-wing bhava (mood) to Lord Gaura (since Gaura = Radha + Krishna), he because right-wing or saumya (empty of left-wing vamya bhava) in Gaura lila. But I personally do not find scriptural evidence for this view in any of authorized biographies. In the Lord's Pastimes, there is no question of anyone becoming empty of anything as spiritual mathematics means 1-1 = still 1.  My explanation of this is as explained above in the first paragraph.

Shri Shri Gaura Gadadhara are not enacting again their previous conjugal pastimes as Shri Shri Radha Krishna but They are simply relishing those pastimes by dancing and singing in Sankirtana. There are absolutely no physical actions between Them which are like their previous conjugal pastimes of Shri Shri Radha Krishna. This is where the Gauranga Nagaris get it wrong. They both are in male forms as Shri Shri Gaura Gadadhara and They are Their own exemplary devotees. They act in a pure and transcendental male friendship relationship (no tinge of the other mundane gay relationship either) though Shri Gadahdara also feels Himself a transcendental servant of the Lord.

Nityananda! Gauranga!
It is very interesting to know that Gadadhara Prabhu's spiritual emotions are described as "pure, deep ecstatic love in the mood of Rukmini-devi". Some devotees are saying that Gadadhara manifested mood of Rukmini-devi, submisive mood because it was not proper to manifest left-wing mood of Radharani. Interesting question! We will wait for answer!

Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna! The diacritics create a problem in searching.

I have some problems using http://nitaai.net/index.html . the page sometimes is scrambled, or when scroll up the page
it does not move as it should. I use firefox.

How often does this happen? I cannot reproduce it here. You can try deleting all the Firefox browser cache (Tools -> Create Private Data) and reloading the page when that happens and kindly let me know if that solves the problem. Does it happen in Mac Safari browser also? Or Camino or Opera on Mac?

dandavats Maharaja one question

In Jaiva Dharma

chap 24 It says this, but where in Brahma samhita is it?

In the Brahma-samhita, the Supreme Personality of Godhead explains to Bodhayana:

yan-nama-kirtana-phalam vividham nishamya
    na shraddadhati manute yad utartha-vadam
yo manushas tam iha duhkha-caye kshipami
    samsara-ghora-vividharti-nipiditangam

"Any person who, after hearing the descriptions of the various benefits obtained by chanting the holy name thinks these benefits are exaggerated, I throw into a host of sufferings and torture in many horrible ways."
The scriptures explain that the holy name has all the powers of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself. The holy name is perfectly spiritual. Therefore it has the power to deliver one from the cycle of birth and death. In the Vishnu-dharma Purana it is said:

Some one once told me it was a print mistake in the Bengali . What is your opinion Maharaj. For six years now I have been looking for the answer, and never read beyond chapter 24 in jaiva dharma

Also where can I find this verse in other books?

Always praying for the mercy of Sri Guru Gauranga and the vaisnavas

All Glories to Sri Guru Gauranga

dandavats Maharaj thank you for your help.

The reason I use xchm is that chmox does not open the nitai veda on my mac ppc. (xchm is also free)

I would be great if nitaai veda had diacritics.

I also use virtual pc on Prabhupada veda base, but its very slow.

I have some problems using http://nitaai.net/index.html . the page sometimes is scrambled, or when scroll up the page

Re: Nitai-Gauranga's mercy easily obtainable or not?

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

I definitely agree with Swami Gaurangapada that one must accept the mercy of Lord Nityananda completely to attain the highest treasure. We all can approach Lords Nitai and Gaura even with offenses, but if we arent 100% ready to accept their mercy and give up all material desires, then how can we accept immediately? The Lord is not going to force us or take our independence, even though he sincerely wants to help us, so in most cases it is a gradual process, sometimes very gradual and other times more quickly.

I also think it is the acquired nature of us conditioned souls to blame someone else for our problems. We want to blame our boss, the government, our families, God, etc. for things not always going our way, but we must always remember that it is our own actions that cause our circumstances. It is our habit of gratifying our material senses that causes our downfall, great or small. The more strongly we try to engage in material sense gratification, to that degree we will suffer the threefold miseries. This is a very simple formula that all of us should see working in our lives.

So sometimes we go to the Lord for desires other than pure devotional service, and this is natural in our conditioned stage. Sometimes we have trace desires for liberation, material enjoyment, etc. still left in us. We should know that if we chant the holy names of Nityananda and Gauranga and become absorbed in their pastimes, then we will attain the highest treasure. But if we stop chanting their names, or quit reading their pastimes, or quit associating with real devotees, and then go back to our sinful activities and bad association, then who is to blame? We voluntarily turn away from God at times because of other desires or our doubting mind.

The true Vaisnavas have given us a simple process in this age of Kali Yuga for attaining pure love of God and acquiring our inherent eternally blissful nature and this is the path we must follow if we do indeed want the highest treasure of eternal blissful love.

harer nama harer nama
harer namaiva kevalam
kalau nasty eva nasty eva
nasty eva gatir anyatha

In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy, the only means of deliverance is the chanting of the holy names of the Lord. There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no other way.

We must chant the holy names in a very humble submissive mood, and this mood is only possible by association with eternal Vaisnavas who are the only ones who possess it.

Re: Nitai-Gauranga's mercy easily obtainable or not?

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranams! This beautiful verse is talking about the ultimate mercy of Lords Nityaananda Gauraanga, which is to enter into Their Divine Pastimes. One can understand this from the case of Shrila Jagai and Madhai. They both received the initial causeless mercy of Lords Nityaananda and Gauraanga near the shore of the Ganga where Lord Nitaai was hit on the head. And only then they developed the above qualities of extreme humility and freedom from bodily consciousness. And only after attaining this humility, they were allowed to enter into the Sankirtana Pastimes of the Lord in Shrivasa Angana where Lord Gaura purified them fully and accepted them as His Associates. The sequence of the events in this pastime answers your nice question. To summarize it: the initial mercy of Lords Nitaai Gaura and Their Holy Names is always causeless and the ultimate mercy of becoming the Lord's direct Associate only comes when the devotee attains the required qualification of intense humility by accepting this initial mercy.

Daaso'smi, Swami Gaurangapada.

>>Please let us not argue over details. Please accept the essence.<<

I totaly agree Swamiji. I tend to be too critical sometimes as you might have observed already in many of my posts. I guess its my fallen nature responsible for that. So please forgive me if I tend to be too critical or argumentative about some things. Just want to learn. Humility is something that I aspire for. HDGSP says real humility is when a person is very advanced and is very meek and humble at that point. -ys truthseeker.
