Gaura Gadadhara and Bhagavatam
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranams! As I was chanting today, the Holy Names revealed to me a glimpse of the beautiful meeting of Shri Shri Gaura Gadadhara in Shri Tota Gopinatha Temple in Puri Dhaama and the super-excellent recitation of Shrimad Bhagavatam by Shrila Gadadhara Pandita in the presence of Lord Gauraanga. Total Gopinatha is one of my favorite places of meditation while Naama Bhajana. I do not know why but my mind just flies to Tota Gopinatha while chanting. It certainly has some magnetic spiritual power. I could see profuse pearl-like tears flowing from the lotus eyes of Lord Gaurahari as He was hearing Bhagavatam sitting beside Shrila Gadadhara Pandita.
They wetted even Shrila Gadadhara also. As he was reciting the verses of the Shrimad Bhagavatam, Shrila Gadadhara was getting intense satisfaction and bliss simply by beholding Lord Gaura's ecstasies. I could feel Lord Gauraanga saying to Shrila Gadadhara, "More, more more..." Lord Gaura was completely overwhelmed. He would embrace Shrila Gadadhara sometimes unable to contain His ecstasy while hearing Hari Katha. As I was vibrating the Holy Names internally by moving my lips and tongue, I could glimpse the words and emotions of Shri Shri Gaura Gadadhara. I could remember the instructions of my Shrila Gurudeva...Naama bhaja, naama chinta, naama kara saara...The sphurti or any kind of revelation during Naama Bhajana is only possible by the causeless mercy of Naama Prabhu, not by our own mechanical efforts during chanting. We have to please and supplicate Him by serving His with our tongue. And He will reveal Himself at the appropriate time. His ways are mysterious.
Daaso'smi, Swami Gaurangapada.
