changed the color of ..Lord Madhava

dandavats learned vaisnavas

I heard from some of my devotee friends, that they dress up and changed the color of ..Lord Madhava as Lord Ramachandra. for Ram navani. Now learned vaisnavas. Is it true three name of Ram are equal to one name of Krsna and is it true Lord Krsna has four more qualitys than Lord Ram and is it true to change the apperance Lord Madhava as Lord Ram. Is this rasabas. Is this correct to do this. Please tell learned vaisnavas what is your opinion.

Thank you so much for your sincere words. We are open always to discuss various topics about Krsna, and this is done in mood of service. There may be some differences in opinion among vaisnavas, but cooperation and bhakti is what is most important. Trnad api sunicena�We should always be humble and tolerant and in that mood we may debate openly according to sastra, guru and sadhus. This is process of devotional cooperation.

Please understand that confusion is normal in material world, in conditioned state. It is not uncommon. But Krsna is guiding us within like caitya-guru, guru in hearth and outside like spiritual master in our searching. Please do not think that you are weak devotee. Lord Balarama is source of our strength, not our own strength or efforts. You are genuine asking and debate, and that is what is needful to understand what is right, what is wrong. We should always ask and discuss � What is Krsna, What is His name, what is conclusion etc. Such answers and questions are freeing us from material world. Please do not feel that you made any offence. I asked hundreds questions to Swami, and sometimes I am also feeling like complete idiot, but that is process. One proverb � When you find person before whom you feel like complete idiot, then you will know it is your spiritual master.

Thank you everyone for guiding me about this patiently. I was just confused as I get strong guidance from both the groups. This way I have got completely confused about my bhakti and I am becoming a very weak devotee. I request everyone to forgive me for offenses for asking such a question. I agree there is no harm in chanting NGN as it is definitely non-differenet from Hare Krishna and I do agree that Gaura Nitaai are very merciful and they will definitely qualify us to chant Hare Krishna. I was just confused as our acharyas did not chant NGN on beads but I have full faith in NGN.

Dear sir you mentioned you are in distress actually everyone is suffering at every moment. I see you mention in the Sri Bhagavat Gita about four kinds of such people come to krsna consciousness.

   But many people who have a death in the family or friends take shelter of God
People who lose their job take shelter of God
Husbands and wives when their relationship take to God.
People who lose money take to God.
People in prison take to God.

But most of these people never continue with their pledge to serve God forever, they soon lose their suffering mind, and continue with their material life.

However for the sincere seeker there is hope if you study Sri Gita more;

Here are some verses which may be helpful.


tad viddhi pranipatena / pariprashnena sevaya
upadekshyanti te jnanam / jnaninas tattva-darshinah

Find a bona fide Guru and receive initiation from him and serve him with you life and soul.

sarva-dharman parityajya / mam ekam shara�am vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo / mokshayishyami ma shucah

Lord Krsna said surrender unto Him.

yat karoshi yad ashnasi / yaj juhoshi dadasi yat

You offer you Dandavat Pranams to Lord Krsna at every moment
After all He is in your heart.

Simple service offer Me fruits, water, vegetables. Offer yourself yourself to Him.
After all He can see if you are sincere; so dont try and cheat Him.
Otherwise He will cheat you of pure devotion


Its very hard to find bhakti in Sri Bhagavad Gita, thats why it is importain
to find a bona fide Guru to guide you.


Lets move on a little. Its very hard to take shelter of Lord Krsna without the mercy of Srimati Radhanai.

But in this iron age those with a little faith will take shelter of Sri Sri  Nitai Gauranga; by their mercy alone
we with get the mercy of Sri Radha and  Krsna.

Dont run after Lord Krsna otherwise it will take you many millions of life times to
get the mercy of Lord Krsna with out the help and mercy of Sri Guru Gauranga.

may Sri Guru Gauranga and the  vaisnavas bless me and over look the mistakes
in my foolish writings.

Dear Mihir, please do not take any offense in this discussion. Let me ask you - Do you think that Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga are Supreme Personalities, svayam Bhagavan? If so, you must agree that They are non-different from their Names. Where is then problem to understand and simply chant Nityananda and Gauranga along with Hare Krsna? Is there any harm? sri-krsna-caitanya -radha krsna nahe anya. Lord Gaurasundara is non-different from Radha-Krsna. Name Gauranga is also non-different from Hare Krsna as Srila Prabhupada said. Bhakti is process of love and it takes unlimited forms.

Here it has clearly been stated how to take shelter of Gaura Nitai. It is by chanting the Panchatatva mantra which is sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda.

Here are 2 purports of Srila Prabhupada from Caitanya Caritamrta:

(Shrila Prabhupada in Cc Adi 8.31 purp)�A neophyte student who is not sufficiently educated or enlightened should not indulge in the worship of Shri Radha and Krishna or the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. Even if he does so, he cannot get the desired result. One should therefore chant the names of Nitai-Gaura and worship Them without false prestige. In the beginning one should *** very regularly *** chant Shri Gaurasundara�s holy name and then chant the holy name of Lord Nityananda. Thus one's heart will be cleansed of impure desires for material enjoyment. Then one can approach Vrndavana-dhama to worship Lord Krishna."

Chanting these names will bring devotion

In Ananta-samhita it is stated:

krsnas caitanya-gaurango
gauracandrah saci-sutah
prabhur gauro gaura-harir
namani-bhakti-dani me

"At this time My names will be: Krsna Caitanya, Gauranga, Gauracandra, Sacisuta, Mahaprabhu, Gaura and Gaurahari. Chanting these names will bring devotion to Me."


In this verse of Ananta Samhita, Supreme Personality  is describing process and essence of Nitaai Gaura Naam Yoga. He is saying that namani-bhakti-dani me - chanting of  Names Gauracandra, Sacisuta, Gauranga, His Names connected with His Gaura lila are bringing devotion to Him, Krsna.
Lord is saying - by chanting such Names you can get devotion, pure love. If Supreme Lord is saying this, and advice us to chant His Names we should accept. What will be result? namani-bhakti-dani me... Chanting these names will bring devotion.

Thank you so much for sharing this! This is so important point for all of us to understand! Nitaai Naam and Gaura Naam are NOT DIFFERENT from Sri Sri Gaura-Nitaai and therefore  are our ONLY hope. That include our entrance to HariNaam meditation and after that our entrance into Krsna lila. Our only link is Nitaai and Gaura Naam. Without Nitaai Gaura Naam bhajan and sadhana it is very, very difficult (almost impossible) for souls in Kali Yuga to chant Hare Krsna without offencess. This is secret of success in chanting Hare Krsna.

Concealed Names

All glories to Swami Gaurangapada!

In Narada Purana we can find following verse:

aham eva dvija-shreshtho
nityam pracchanna-vigrahah
bhagavad-bhakta-rupena
lokam rakshami sarvada

"My true identity always concealed, I will assume the form of a brahmana devotee of the Lord. In this form I will deliver the worlds."

Just as true identity of Lord Gauranga was concealed, true identity or glories of His Own Names are also concealed, hidden. This is part of His Lila. Nitaai and Gaura Naam are most intimate Names of Lord, because they are His Most inner, condensed, blissful Names referring to His Gaura Lila, in His role of devotee, while He is relishing Radha-bhava. It is most intimate. Therefore, His Name Gauranga is most confidential and such things are naturally hidden, concealed.We all are keeping our intimate feelings confidential, not telling to everyone, or only to closest friends. Nitaai and Gaura Naam are most intimate Names of Lord.Therefore They are greatest mystery. Lord is saying that in this form He will deliver the worlds - lokam rakshami sarvada.

Bhaktivinoda Thakura and other acaryas have commented that Nityananda and Gauranga are supremely merciful. They are merciful first and foremost and secondarily sweet. Whereas Krishna is primarily sweet and secondarily merciful. One can attain perfection by chanting the maha mantra alone but in most cases only after a very long time, like many lives even. But if we are FILLED with offenses then we very well could  end up committing even more serious offenses by just chanting the maha mantra alone as Krishna does consider offenses. I know many cases where this has happened in a very severe manner. One cannot neglect the true Vaisnavas in one's worship. One needs the mercy of Nitai - Gaura in this Kali Yuga and we need to very regularly chant their names and not just a few times before the maha mantra.

Also when I started chanting only the maha mantra with the panca tattva mantra before my rounds  I had some initial taste but after a month or two I lost all taste as I was so filled with anarthas and offenses. Once I started chanting the Nityananda and Gauranga mantras at least 10 - 40 rounds a day, I again regained a taste for chanting. I noticed a HUGE difference when I started focusing the bulk of my attention on NItyananda and Gauranga as opposed to Krishna lila. Big difference. I could taste the spiritual mellows for the first time, it was great and I would never give up chanting at least 64 rounds each of Nitai - Gaura. Their names are so saturated with bliss and yet so easily accessible. Whereas Krishna's names are so saturated with bliss but only accessible to the advanced soul. One needs only to sincerely cry out.
