Nityananda Prabhu's mercy most vital

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Here are some nice statements of Gauranga Mahaprabhu glorifying Nityananda Praphu
Caitanya Mangala Madhya Khanda chapter 4:

Lord Gauranga said, "Nityananda has come to smash the pride of Kali, and to deliver the blind, invalid, elderly and the fallen. Shri Nityananda purifies the three worlds, but the fools and atheists can't understand. Everyone will fall in the trap of divine love 'set by Shri Nityananda Prabhu."

With immense delight, Gaura-Nitai glorified the spiritual attributes of Lord Hari. Soon the ocean of Their ecstasy calmed, and They sat down amongst all the devotees. Everyone became supremely pleased with Their darsana. Snatching some dust from the lotus feet of Nityananda, Gaurahari sprinkled it on the heads of His associates.

Upon returning home, Mahaprabhu explained, "In all the three worlds there is no comparison to the glories of Shri Nityananda Prabhu. His love and devotion for Krishna are extraordinary. It is very difficult to attain Krishna-prema-bhakti.

"From the platform of realization, one surrenders in devotion to Krishna. Relishing a higher taste, he automatically rejects sense gratification. Day after day his attachment for Krishna increases. Eventually, he reaches the mature state of pure ecstatic love of God. But by the causeless mercy of Shri Nityananda Prabhu, anyone can easily obtain Krishna-prema."

On another day, Shriman Mahaprabhu received Nityananda Prabhu at His home. Gauranga smeared sandalwood paste on
Nityananda's body, gave Him a flower garland, and offered other articles for worshiping an exalted personality. Maddened with affection, Sacimam couldn't take her eyes offNitai's lotus face. Gaurahari said, "Sacimam, you seem to take more care of Nitai than Me."

Gazing tenderly with motherly love, Sacimata said, "From today on, both of You are my sons. Nitai, please show Your mercy to Visvambhara." Crying, Saci sat Nitai on her lap.

Accepting Saci as a mother, Shri Nityananda Prabhu touched her feet and spoke sweetly. He said, "Everything you said is true. You should definitely know that I am your son. So, as My mother, please overlook My faults. Know clearly that in all respects I'm your son."

Overpowered by intense motherly affection for Nityananda, Sacimata cried and choked up. The devotees became astonished by her expression of parental love.

64 Rounds of Nityananda and Gauranga Naam

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

Dear Swami Gaurangapada and devotees,
please accept my simple obiesances.

Some thoughts and realizations from my heart this morning while doing sadhana/jaap.

1. Gurudeva has expressed several times to me, 'the slow and steady win the race'. That statement rings true in so many aspects of life, and even truer in the devotional life, on all levels.

2. When I met Srila Gaurangapada in 2004 (how fortunate) he gave me the most important instruction of my life. 'Please' he asked, 'chant 10 rounds of Nityananda Naam and Gauranga Naam everyday without fail. Please! They have given you so much to be grateful for: fresh air, good health, nice foodstuffs, wonderful beauty all around you. So much to be grateful for, please chant Their Holy Names everyday'.

I took this instruction to heart, and gratitude for life has become the key. Especially now that I can behold a tiny glimpse of the beautiful path set forth by Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Without Srila Gurudeva and his wise instructions this would not have been possible.

3.By regularly chanting a fixed number of rounds of Nityananda and Gauranga Naam, before chanting the Hare Krsna Mahamantra, we become fixed very quickly in Naam sadhana. The cry of the heart to Lord Nitaai becomes, 'purify me please so pure devotion may arise in my heart. Purify me please so I may know how to live a devotional life, learning to love and respect others, as parts and particles of God. Please show me how to live, so I may be qualified oneday to serve the associates of Sri Sri Radha Krsna! Oh Sri Gauranga thank you!'

4. I have realized that by chanting a fixed number of rounds of Nitaai-Gaura Naam without fail each day, the heart begins to yearn for chanting the Holy Name more and more. Why is that? Because the offences in the heart begin to be slowly cleared away.

5. I have realized over the last 4 years that Nitaai-Gaura Naam jaap has become an essential part of daily sadhana. And that 64 rounds of each Holy Name of Nityananda and Gauranga is desired deeply, at all costs, without fail. And then after completing rounds of the Mahamantra, to dive deeply into Nitaai-Gaura Naam again. I feel deeply this is the master key, greatest gift, and most radical mercy of our beloved spiritual master and acarayas.

6. Nitaai-Gauranga covers a multitude of sins and offences, and encourages by this merciful love, to continue the process of devotional life and awakening to love. Their mercy is truly heart inspiring, and shelter in the storms of life. Mercy!

7. Very very quickly after regular chanting of 64 rounds of Nityananda and Gauranga Naam, an intense desire for chanting the Hare Krsna Mahamantra arises! And the chanting of Nitaai-Gauranga becomes stronger, fixed, and more intense. 'Oh please wipe away all dust from my heart Gaura Naam, so I may see who you truly are, so I may truly live and fulfill the plan of this human birth!'

8. 'I am so fallen and far from love! How can I ever taste the beauty and sweetness of Goloka Vrindavan, without your mercy, Lords Nityananda-Gauranga!'

9. 64 rounds each of Nityananda, Gauranga, and the Hare Krishna Mahamantra is the greatest gift of our disciplic succession, and will very quickly awaken Naam Siddhi in the heart. We should aspire for this goal birth after birth, and take Sri Gauranga's intructions about Laksha Naam upon our head, and fully worship Naam in such a way.

peaching or chanting

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
Dandavat pranams. Jaya Srila Prabhupada! Jaya Nitai Nimai! Jaya Radhe Syam! Jaya Jagganatha!

My is question is what should one do chant more or preach more? Following the program Prabhupada set up for us and then going on sankirtan it is very hard to chant 64 rounds. If one goes on sankirtan for eight hours, chants for eight hours, that leaves about 2 hours for reading or other services. There would be no time for the programs. Unless one woke earlier, but in my case I can't I need six hours of sleep. In this case what should one do?

Your Aspiring Servant,
Bhakta Brett

Re: Internet Writing vs Travelling

Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krsna!
Dandavats.Thank you all for bringing in this topic and discussing it with a beautiful mixture of sincerity, inquisitiveness, humility and scriptural erudition. It is a blessing for me to have found your sanga. This is so very rare in this world. Please allow me to share my thoughts in this connection.

We are talking here about the principle of yukta vairagya taught to us by Srila Rupa Goswami Prabhupada. Yukta vairagya means true and complete renunciation of all material things by only engaging them in relationship with Krishna. In fact there is nothing in this world which is not related or connected with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Gauranga-Krishna.
The Lord Himself says in the Bhagavad Gita:

mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya
mayi sarvam idam protam sutre mani-gana iva

O, conqueror of wealth, there is no truth superior Me. Everything rests upon Me,as pearls are strung on a thread. (BG 7.7)
And also:

Aham sarvasya prabhavo matah sarvam pravartate

I am the source of all material and spiritual worlds. Everything emanates from Me. (BG 10.8)
So, in reality we cannot renounce anything, because nothing belongs to us. Everything is Krishnas energy and belongs to Him only. What we should give up is our false sense of proprietorship upon Lords creation and start using everything we possess in His devotional service. In this connection Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura has sung very nicely :

Manasa deho geho yo kichu mora
Arpilun tua pade nanda-kishora

"Mind, body, home, whatever I call mine
I offer at Your lotus feet O youthful son of Nanda (Krishna)"

So, thats what Srila Prabhupada did in his preaching in the West. He perfectly followed this principle yukta vairagya by engaging everything that Krishna provided in His devotional service and for spreading Krishna consciousness all over the world. Therefore Krishna provided more and more and his mission was successful beyond imagination. He also taught us to apply this principle in trying to push forward the movement. In this information age Internet is a very powerful medium for propaganda and can be used to spread worldwide the glories of the Lord. It is the brihad mridanga allowing the glories of the Lord to gradually reach each and every corner of the world.
Many preachers are using this tool very succesfully. My spiritual master His Grace Sriman Sankarshan das Adhikari is maintaining an e-course via Internet and in this way reaching to about 7000 students from more than 100 countries all around the world. Then when they invite him he travels to their respective places and provides them with more preaching and personal attention.
His Holliness Swami Gaurangapada has very kindly taken the task of spreading the rare and superexcellent glories of Lords Nityananda and Gauranga and Their Holy Names, Forms, Abodes, Pastimes and Associates, which is an unique contribution absolutely and crucially needed for reforming the suffering and offensive living entities in Kali Yuga which otherwise will have very little chance to steadily advance in spiritual life even if they take up to the worship of Lord Krishna.
So, lets use everything with care in Lord Gauranga-Krishnas service and our lives and the lives of others will be sublime.
Your servant: Sarvabhauma das
