Nityanaanda Gauraanga Hare Krishna!
Jai Visnupada Srila Prabhupada!
Jai Visupada Swami Gaurangapada!
All glories to the Guru Sampradaya!
Repected Swamiji and all the devotees,
Please accept my obeisances!
Today, June 15th is our dear Hadai Nityananda Dasa's birthday. I hence wanted to gift him the following poem. Please correct any offences I may have committedin the process.
Nitaai - His devotee, His mercy
Written by Venkat Kumar
Edited and proofread by Srinath
Dedicated to Hadai Nityananda Dasa on the occasion of his birthday
On June 15th 2008
He taught me the glories
Of the all merciful holy names
Nityaananda Gauraanga
A hundred obeisance's to you, my dear Hadai Prabhu.
I was a rascal, a fool of the first order
My actions had nothing but sins
He brought me out of illusion
A hundred obeisance's to you, my dear Hadai Prabhu.
He instilled faith in me
Showed me the way of worship
How can I forget you?
A hundred obeisance's to you, my dear Hadai Prabhu.
I was very arrogant and foolish
I did not listen to him properly
Yet he showed his mercy upon me
A hundred obeisance's to you, my dear Hadai Prabhu.
Oh listen everyone, the holy name
Nityaananda is all merciful
Hadai Prabhu taught me this
A hundred obeisance's to you, my dear Hadai Prabhu.
Nityaananda is the Savior
Of this there is no doubt
Take shelter of this holy name
Prema will come seeking you
This holy name, Nityaananda
Is a super jet boat
Which will help you stream past the material ocean
And in no time dive into the ocean of Prema
Nityaananda is a loosely built dam
Flooded with prema upto the brim
Chant Nityaananda and behold the dam bursting open!
Drowned and carried by the flood of prema, you will reach Goloka Navadvipa
Chant Nityaananda
You will become a servant of Gauranga
And relish with Him
The infinite glories of the pastimes of Radha Krishna
Do not doubt what I say
An insect, a creeper, a dog will get liberated
If they once hear the name of Nityaananda
Of this there is no doubt, no doubt
Only those bereft of all good fortune
Will refuse to chant Nityaananda
For these unfortunate souls
Vrndavana Dasa Thakura says there is no hope
My friends, O eternal servants of Gauraanga Krishna!
With a straw in my mouth I beg you
Please chant the holy name Nityaananda, atleast once
You will attain the Love of Godhead.
For those who take shelter of Nityaananda
Material sufferings run away
They, Gauranga's servants
Are immersed in a ever increasing infinite bliss.
These servants of Gauranga are worthy of all worship
Those who blaspheme these servants
Are most unfortunate and deprived of all intelligence
Worst of sinners, they will be rushed to Yama's abode
I fearlessly declare keeping my life at stake
There is none more merciful than Nityaananda.
Others may say whatever they think,
But he who challenges Nitaai is a fool deluded by maya
My dear Hadai Prabhu
Is more valuable
Than my own life
A hundred obeisance's to you, my dear Hadai Prabhu.
Anyone who dares critic my dear Prabhu
My dear Swami Gaurangapada
Or any of the Acaryas
Will receive a thrashing that they will never forget
With this I beg you
Please O please
If you ever want to end all your sufferings, and enter complete happiness
Please chant the name of Nityaananda, atleast once.
O Hadai Prabhu! Your mercy is beyond words
You openly reveal what is so confidential
On your birthday Prabhu,
This worthless soul offers this gift at your lotus feet
Happy Birthday Prabhu!!! I pray to NitaiGaura that you may live a long and happy life fully immersed in the Love of Godhead. Please bestow your blessings on me. Without the blessings of Swamiji and the respected Vaishnavas including you, I could have never dreamt of writing this poem. Please accept me at your feet. I also profusely thank Srinath for helping me edit this poem and bringing it to its current state. He did a number of minor changes spending a lot of time trying to bring the poem to its best.
Again I must say that this poem is not any great achievement. I was inspired to write it. Thats all. It is not a very fantastic poem etc but it was the best I could write and I fulfilled my desire to gift Hadai Prabhu. Please forgive me if the poem is disappointing in any way.
Aspiring to serve and please Vaishnavas,
Venkat.
