Entry 03

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

On 11-8-08, I was chanting Nityananda Naam and without expecting any results, I got the sensation that one gets when they are about to cry. My throat was feeling "choked" and speech would not be easy. I felt myself to intimately be with Lord Nityananda Balaram. There were tears in the eyes. I realized that this probably would not had occurred if it wasn't for the offering of leaves that I gave to Him.

From what I read, He is pleased with the slightest service and in return can bestow His topmost mercy. If I were to ever meet someone who is interested in Sanatana Dharma, the first thing I would recommend for them is to chant Nityananda, pray to Him, and offer (suitable) things to Him. Of course, I would also recommend the chanting of Gauranga. I think that I read in Nityananda Charitamrita, which is a very wonderful text to me, that we feel attracted to Nityananda and it is because of Gauranga's grace. Last night, while reading more of Nityananda Charitamrita, I almost cried again while learning more about the Lord's pastimes.

I was going to chant 50-40-1 yesterday but instead I chanted 32-32-4. That was a good practice.

Swami Gaurangapada,

I understand that the options of chanting daily 10-10-4, 10-10-10, and so on are usual options, and I read your reply to me that So the ideal goal of 64-64-16 would be the best to target for as a steady means of sadhana as we advance to higher stages.

Before I reach that level, 64-64-16, I want to know if you would like it that I try 32-32-4 or 64-64-4 daily until I am ready for the ideal goal of a steady sadhana. The only things I am failing to observe currently are to abstain from caffeine and eggs (getting away from onions, garlic, and olives will be difficult until I leave my parents' home). It is my goal to give up caffeine first. Therefore, I will be completely observing three of the Regulations. By giving up eggs, I will be completely observing all four Regulations.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Swami Gaurangapada and all Devotees,

Please accept my pranaams and apology for keeping you waiting.

I will be writing a new entry about Nityananda Naam which I think will be nectar for all of us to relish when reading.

It is my experience that having the knowledge of the mantrarajas Nityananda and Gauranga is a very fortunate and currently rare opportunity for someone. None of us should ever discard the chanting of these mantrarajas. To discard them, I think, would be like the son of a king discarding his royal affiliation and then he realizes that his life is missing something rare and special.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

I will write my biography the way that you asked me to do. smile

My question though was not about the biography but was about what you require for all of your students. What do all students have to observe as an obligation?

Re: My introduction

Dear Suhrit, Please write the biography is such a way that would inspire and motivate others to take up the chanting of Nityaananda, Gauraanga and the Hare Krishna Mantra because  our life is meant to help others become devotees. That would be wonderful. Thank you for this idea. Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna!

Nimai Thakura dasa is born to Tommy and Candace

Dear Devotees, Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna! I have received an email from Tommy and Candace that their second child Nimai Thakura took birth. They were very kind to accept my suggestion and name him Nimai Thakura. Nimai is a very dear name to Lord Nitaai and Shrimati Shachidevi. It is full of eternal bliss. Our Sampradaya is described as the Nimaananda Sampradaya in Bhakti Ratnakara. Anyone who will chant this name when the child is at home or when he goes to school or when he grows up will receive immense agyaata sukriti and then will certainly begin their journey to Goloka Vrindaavana. And all this credit will go his parents.

Tommy wrote: Nimai Thakura was born on November 7th @ 9:30am a natural delivery with no complications and everyone is healthy and discharged from the hospital this morning.  We arrived home a few hours ago and Nimai is already showing his personality.  He is calmed significantly when I play kirtan.  I am very grateful for this service Krsna gives.  I am a very dear friend of Krsna and sometimes he comes to me and we draw in the dirt and play in the bushes of Vrndavan.  I will pray to Govinda and ask if my sons may be pure devotees.

Let us all pray and bless Tommy and Candace that their above wish is fulfilled by the Lord. I encourage and request all the future parents in this world to name their children after the principal Names of the Lord and turn this planet into the spiritual world. smile

Re: Entry 02

Dear Suhrit, Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranaams and blessings. We were all waiting for your second entry for a long time and are happy to read it. I am happy that you realized practically the importance of the Nityaananda and Gauraanga Mantrarajas in regards to granting us the much-needed taste and nourishment in Bhakti and for chanting the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra. Your consistent chanting of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama will gradually make you qualified for Hari Naama. Though both are completely non-different, taste or no taste, we also have to chant Hari Naama also because it is the order of Lord Gauraanga and all our Acharyas. It can be slowly increased from one round to four and then to at least sixteen rounds which is order of our Shrila Prabhupada. So the ideal goal of 64-64-16 would be the best to target for as a steady means of sadhana as we advance to higher stages.

Daaso'smi, BR Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada.

Regarding chanting of nitai-gaura

Nityaananda gauraanga hare krsna

Please accept my obeisances,
Since the chanting of nitai-gaura considers no offences, does it mean that
benefit obtained by  chanting unattentively = benfit of chanting attentively
benefit obtained by  chanting without taking shelter of a guru = benfit of chanting after taking shelter of a guru???????

please appease my doubt.

Swami Gaurangapad

I have thought about it over and over, and I am read to write a biography of myself for you. Before I do this, I would like to know, what do you require of all of your students?
