Nityananda Gauranga Naam and important aspects of Naam Tattva

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Please accept my most humble obeisances. i don't know, if this question was asked already... Anyway i would like to ask it here, because it keeps my mind and heart busy for some time already:

Is there the gradation of chanting, i.e. Naamaparadha-Naamabhasa-Shuddha Naama, in chanting of the Holy Names of Nityananda Gauranga? How does these aspects of Naama Tattva should be understood in connection of Nityananda Gauranga Naam?

Waiting eagerly for Your reply,
Matus

Re: Regarding chanting of nitai-gaura

Dear Karthik,

Nityananda ! Gauranga ! Hare Krishna !

Jaya Gurudev ! Jaya Guruparampara !

It is very important to take initiation from a pure devotee and one must make this a serious goal of his life. After one is sure about his commitment in chanting minimum daily rounds he should think about getting initiated.

After initiation our prayers are offered to the Lord by our guru thus it is very easily accepted and it guarantees progress. The guru puts the seed of devotion in the disciples heart and the disciple waters it regularly by chanting thus helping the plant to grow.

People argue that Arjuna had Krishna the God to guide him and not spiritual master. However that is not true, Arjuna had Krishna the spiritual master to guide him. As God Krishna shared the relationship of friendship with Arjuna. In the beginning Arjuna talked with Him as God i.e in the rasa of friendship. However Krishna was only hearing him but did not guide him. Finally Arjuna submitted himself to Krishna as a disciple and then Krishna took the role of a spiritual master and spoke the Bhagavad Gita.

So pls take initiation very seriously as it will guarantee your way back home.

Sincerely,
Mihir.

Re: Regarding chanting of nitai-gaura

Dear Karthik,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! Please accept my respectful obeisances!

Thank you for having asked that. Questions like these can be called 'FAQ's of chanting Nityananda Gauranga' since every new devotee who has joined so far has mentioned this point sometime or the other. I believe that we can compile such questions into basics of Nitaai Gaura Naama for the benefit of newcomers.

Although theory may suggest one thing, practically what one encounters is this :

Although Nitaai gaura naam doesn't consider offences, chanting properly with attention and without committing offense on our part is vastly superior to chanting and committing all types of sinful activities and inattention. Anyone who has seen both the good and the bad quality chanting will testify to that.

Benefit obtained by surrendering to the guru is far more superior than chanting alone. There is no doubt. As a matter of fact without guru we cannot reach the Lord. But surrender should not be equated to the formal diksha process alone.

The very day you have come to this sanga, you have obtained the mercy of guru and Gauranga and so your sadhana will definitely be successful. Remember that all of us obtained the knowledge of the mantrarajas only by the mercy of a devotee in the first place to start with. So we have the mercy of sri-guru eternally from the start.

While it is a fact that diksha takes you a very long way ahead, let us not think wrongly that the mantrarajas will not bestow their unlimited mercy because we are not initiated. Nothing is further from the truth. It isn't a case of all or nothing. Any material work is like that, but this is spiritual. Many of us are not formal diksha disciples but we have also experienced the indescribable power of chanting. Let us not think that we are denied from higher progress because we have not taken diksha.

When you come to the stage where you need diksha, then the Lord will personally arrange for circumstances that will take you to your initiation and further progress. Nothing is impossible for Lord Gauranga Krishna!  When we advance sufficiently, the Lord will arrange for opening the doors to higher advancement. So do not worry about that.

Lord Gauranga has himself said that diksha is not a pre-requisite for chanting though it is necessary for higher spiritual advancement of the disciple. The names can and should be chanted under all circumstances whether one is initiated or not. The naama is the Lord and so he knows what to arrange when. So you may not be initiated now, but having started chanting Nityananda Gauranga and Hare Krishna, you have already earned the mercy of the Lord.

So the advice is, "Do not worry about circumstances. Just chant and behold the wondrous power of the Lord!"

Daasos'mi,
Srinath

Re: Regarding chanting of nitai-gaura

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

     Please accept my humble obesiences

All glories to sri guru and gauranga!!!

In context of your question of accepting a spritual master or guru , one can remember Lord Krishna's advice to Uddhava.Lord Krishna stated that one who worships him directly is not his devotee , but , one who worships his devotee is actually his devotee.By accepting a spritual master and serving him without ulterior motives one can please the lord immensely. When the lord sees our endeavour to serve, he showers his mercy. Also, because of the guru's blessings and mercy ,our chanting goes from the offensive stage to the offense less stage and finally to the prema stage.
Srila Prabhupada also wrote in his books that the more we become the servant of the servant the more Lord
Krishna's heart gets conquered.I would like to quote a verse from the Mukunda-Mala-Stotra :

" O! ENEMY OF MADHU & KAITABHA, O!LORD OF THE UNIVERSE , THE PERFECTION OF MY LIFE ,THE MOST CHERISHED MERCY YOU COULD SHOW ME WOULD BE FOR YOU TO CONSIDER ME THE SERVANT OF THE SERVANT OF THE SERVANT OF THE SERVANT OF THE SERVANT OF THE SERVANT OF YOUR SERVANT" [Stotra 25].

          Radhe ! Radhe !

               Your humble servant,
                              Nitai Charan
