When willl...prayer

When will nectar of Holy Name fill my sinful hearth? When will eternal Navadvipa become manifested before my eyes? When will I abandon all fruitive useless activities and jubilantly preach about Nityananda and Gauranga?

When will Advaita Acharya become merciful upon me and gave me mercy to see Nitaai-Gaura?
When will this stone-like hearth melt upon hearing Hari Naam, and shake like leaf just thinking about pastimes of Lord Gauranga?

When will Rupa and Sanatana  become merciful upon me and grant me understanding of their writings? When will Haridasa Thakura place his benedictions upon me by giving me entrance into realm of pure chanting of HariNaam?

When will Srilla Bhaktivinoda Thakura become merciful upon me and grant me permanent residence in Puri Dham, where I will be able to hear sweet sound of Tota Gopinath's flute? When will Srilla Prabhupada gave me his mercy and gave me strength to take part in sankirtana mission?

Bound by endless ropes of kama and karma, this fallen Ishana Thakura dasa is meditating upon lotus feet of his spiritual master, praying to attain association of devotees and crying out Names of Nityananda and Gauranga.

Re: offering bhoga to the deity

Dear Devotees,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My pranams! No onion, garlic or red lentils. Simple as that.

Shak is spinach. I do not know why there is this type of confusion. Anything can be offered except what is explicitly forbidden. How can we mention all the things that can be offered to the Lord in one song? smile There's an infinite variety of dishes!

Devotees,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! Majority of the pages are in Verdana with some in Balaram fonts.  I had to manually install the fonts to my PC so I guess other users have to do the same.

offering bhoga to the deity

repects to all
We all know this bhogha aroti song of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. And all the tings Lord Krsna like to eat:

I know in most maths in India and in the west other food stuffs are .

eggplant, potato, and tomato. Could you imagine subji without potatoes? Chillies? , peanuts, tapioca, cucumbers, cauliflower, and the "stick" sabji  Bhogarati song.

And what food does Nitai Gauranga like besides Shak.

So this is the question: Will Lord Krsna accept eggplant, potato,  tomato, peanuts, tapioca, cucumbers, cauliflower etc.

Is there any other reference as to what Krsna like to eat.

Re: Found a new ebook of spiritual nectar

Dear lowerthanarat,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! I have been searching for this book in chm format for a while myself. I found an updated link today. It turns out that the version 1.1 which is more improved than 1.0 is in a chm format along with some troubleshooting tips.

The book can be downloaded from this link here http://www.4shared.com/file/127357015/f … k_1v1.html

Please note that it is not a direct download link. It will take you to a page from where you will be given an auto download link. If I find a direct link, I will put it up in this thread.

Prayer to Jagannatha

I have a house
I have a car
I have things,
But my heart is not
In that house
In that car,
Among those things.
It is longing to hear
about the name Of Jagannatha.
Oh Jagannatha Swami,
In this lifetime I cannot see You-
My eyes are imperfect,
My senses limited,
My body dissolving
Day by day.
So,please dont let me forget
Your Beautiful eyes,
Your endless smile.
With the impatience of a restless child
I want to surrender
To Your Lotus Feet

Windows, Linux programs on MAC OS Compatibility

Dear Devotees,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! My pranams!

For mac os users, I would advise them to try out Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac. The link is here

The software is priced at $80 but for that one can run all the important windows applications like exe, etc. Note that it works on Intel based mac os.

There are some spiritual vani and books out there that are so important and beautiful for devotees that no one should miss them for anything else. Sometimes we don't get things exactly according to our requirements, but fixes are available for that.

Features are follows.

Run Windows-only applications on your Mac. Access key Windows applications from the comfort of your Mac. Run your favorite software on your favorite hardware.

Use your favorite Windows-only devices. Use your favorite in-demand USB 2.0 devices, even if theyre Windows-only. Connect your phone, camera and MP3 player to your Mac!

Run OS X, Windows and Linux at the same time.
Run your favorite applications at the same time, regardless of the OS! No more rebooting to switch between OSs to use the applications you need.

Bring your PC with you!
Move an entire physical or virtual Windows system to your new Mac in just a few simple steps. No losing data, reinstalling software or re-customizing your computer.

Srinath

Re: Why are devotees, gurus and pure devotee seen to suffer

Dear Mihir,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! My pranams! One has to progress continuously by chanting the name and gradually reach the stage of 100% devotion. Natural progress is really the best way. Of course we have to be as sincere as we can, but it is not possible for neophytes to try and do what really really pure devotees can do. It's always proper to stick to what one is capable of doing and not try beyond one's capacity.

Dear Gurudev,

Nityaananda ! Gauraanga ! Hare Krishna !

Dandavat Pranaams.

This may appear a very silly question but dear Gurudev I was wondering how can a neophyte surrender 100% to the Lord. Does he have to wait for a natural progress so that one day he may become a pure devotee and thus be able to surrender 100% or there are ways by which he can also surrender 100% like pure devotees ?

Mihir.

Re: Why are devotees, gurus and pure devotee seen to suffer

Dear Devotees,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! From Chaitanya Charitamrta :

CC Antya 4.172: [The Lord to Sanatana Gosvami when his body was affected by skin sores] "You consider your body dangerous and awful, but I think that your body is like nectar.

CC Antya 4.173: "Actually your body is transcendental, never material. You are thinking of it, however, in terms of a material conception.

CC Antya 4.195: "Kṛṣṇa somehow or other manifested these itching sores on the body of Sanātana Gosvāmī and sent him here to test Me.

CC Antya 4.196: "If I had hated Sanātana Gosvāmī and had not embraced him, I would certainly have been chastised for offenses to Kṛṣṇa.

CC Antya 4.197: "Sanātana Gosvāmī is one of the associates of Kṛṣṇa. There could not be any bad odor from his body. On the first day I embraced him, I smelled the aroma of catuḥsama [a mixture of sandalwood pulp, camphor, aguru and musk]."

CC Antya 4.198: In fact, however, when Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu embraced the body of Sanātana Gosvāmī, by the Lord's touch alone there was manifested a fragrance exactly like that of sandalwood pulp.

CC Antya 4.199: Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu continued, "My dear Sanātana, do not be aggrieved, for when I embrace you I actually get great pleasure.

CC Antya 4.200: "Stay with Me at Jagannātha Purī for one year, and after that I shall send you to Vṛndāvana."

CC Antya 4.201: After saying this, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu again embraced Sanātana Gosvāmī. Thus immediately Sanātana's sores disappeared, and his entire body resembled the color of gold.

CC Antya 4.202: Seeing the change, Haridāsa Ṭhākura, greatly astonished, told the Lord, "This is Your pastime.

CC Antya 4.203: "My dear Lord, You made Sanātana Gosvāmī drink the water of Jhārikhaṇḍa, and You actually generated the consequent itching sores on his body.

CC Antya 4.204: "After thus causing these itching sores, You examined Sanātana Gosvāmī. No one can understand Your transcendental pastimes."

CC Antya 4.205: After embracing both Haridāsa Ṭhākura and Sanātana Gosvāmī, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu returned to His residence. Then Haridāsa Ṭhākura and Sanātana Gosvāmī, in great ecstatic love, began to describe the Lord's transcendental attributes.

Re: Why are devotees, gurus and pure devotee seen to suffer

Dear devotees,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My pranams! Our Acharyas have given us the answers themselves. Actually the body of a devotee is never to be considered material because the Lord makes it spiritual (or the nitya-siddhas have eternal spiritual bodies). The so called material defects are simply a display of maya or illusory energy.

Upadesamrta 6th sloka

dṛṣṭaiḥ svabhāva-janitair vapuṣaś ca doṣair
na prākṛtatvam iha bhakta janasya paśyet
gańgāmbhasāḿ na khalu budbuda-phena-pańkair
brahma-dravatvam apagacchati nīra-dharmaiḥ

TRANSLATION

Being situated in his original Kṛṣṇa conscious position, a pure devotee does not identify with the body. Such a devotee should not be seen from a materialistic point of view. Indeed, one should overlook a devotee's having a body born in a low family, a body with a bad complexion, a deformed body, or a diseased or infirm body. According to ordinary vision, such imperfections may seem prominent in the body of a pure devotee, but despite such seeming defects, the body of a pure devotee cannot be polluted. It is exactly like the waters of the Ganges, which sometimes during the rainy season are full of bubbles, foam and mud. The Ganges waters do not become polluted. Those who are advanced in spiritual understanding will bathe in the Ganges without considering the condition of the water.

From Purport :

Kṛṣṇa's devotee is not subjected to material condition, even though his bodily features may appear materially conditioned. One should therefore not see a pure devotee from a materialistic point of view. Unless one is actually a devotee, he cannot see another devotee perfectly. As explained in the previous verse, there are three types of devotees kaniṣṭha-adhikārī, madhyama-adhikārī and uttama-adhikārī. The kaniṣṭha-adhikārī cannot distinguish between a devotee and nondevotee. He is simply concerned with worshiping the Deity in the temple. A madhyama-adhikārī, however, can distinguish between the devotee and nondevotee, as well as between the devotee and the Lord. Thus he treats the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the devotee and the nondevotee in different ways.

No one should criticize the bodily defects of a pure devotee. If there are such defects, they should be overlooked. What should be taken into account is the spiritual master's main business, which is devotional service, pure service to the Supreme Lord. As stated in Bhagavad-gītā (9.30):

api cet sudurācāro bhajate mām ananya-bhāk
sādhur eva sa mantavyaḥ samyag vyavasito hi saḥ

Even if a devotee sometimes seems to engage in abominable activities, he should be considered a sādhu, a saintly person, because his actual identity is that of one engaged in the loving service of the Lord. In other words, he is not to be considered an ordinary human being.

If we consider the bodily defects of a Vaiṣṇava, we should understand that we are committing an offense at the lotus feet of the Vaiṣṇava. An offense at the lotus feet of a Vaiṣṇava is very serious. Indeed, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has described this offense as hātī-mātā, the mad elephant offense. A mad elephant can create a disaster, especially when it enters into a nicely trimmed garden. One should therefore be very careful not to commit any offense against a Vaiṣṇava. Every devotee should be ready to take instructions from a superior Vaiṣṇava, and a superior Vaiṣṇava must be ready to help an inferior Vaiṣṇava in all respects. One is superior or inferior according to his spiritual development in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. One is forbidden to observe the activities of a pure Vaiṣṇava from a material point of view. For the neophyte especially, considering a pure devotee from a material point of view is very injurious. One should therefore avoid observing a pure devotee externally, but should try to see the internal features and understand how he is engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. In this way one can avoid seeing the pure devotee from a material point of view, and thus one can gradually become a purified devotee himself.

Daaso'smi,
Srinath

Re: Why are devotees, gurus and pure devotee seen to suffer

Nityananda, Gauranga, Hare Krishna.
Jaya Guru Parampara, Jaya Swamiji Gaurangapada.

My dearest Swamiji Gaurangapada,

The obvious reason for this suffering is that we have accepted a material body which eventually will cease to exist anyway. Decay and eventually 'death' is what every material body is sure to expect, without exception. Alas, but this decay is never without suffering. Think about Shrila Prabhupada: yes, even during His last days on earth He taught us a valuable lesson - but unfortunately His body suffered heavily.   Hence the question whether one can be 100% surrendered to Lord Gaura Krishna while still being trapped into a material body. I'm also afraid that at the end of the day physical pain will have the upper hand and that 'dying peacefully' is only a myth. Nowadays at the hospitals people get heavily sedated during their last hours to 'ease' the pain. So, no matter how big our Faith, how can one actively remember the Lord while being sedated? Only God can give us an answer to this...

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift. That's why it is called the present, the present from God. The most important lesson is to always think about the Lord - here and now.

Praying for the Mercy of Their Lordships,
Damodara Svarupa dasa

Found a new ebook of spiritual nectar

Namaste,

I regularly visit this site and I found lot of guidance from all the wonderful topics you discuss here. I became inspired and started chanting the Lord's names recently as your site made me realize the importance of chanting. And already I am feeling very much improvement.  Actually since I am very new to devotion I don't know so much about this devotion and karma or scriptures, what it is or how it works. I am trying to know more about the subjects and I have been collecting some books like Bhagavad Gita to read more.

Recently I was searching for some bhakti books which contained some books essential for me at this stage.

Few days back I found this new ebook called "The Gaura Ebook" which was only some 34 Mb so I looked at the description and felt like downloading...when i opened it i was really amazed because it contained exactly what I had been searching for -- all the essential books that are needed for spiritual progress. Lot of info about science, bhakti, karma, vaishnava philosphy is there along with some books which I have read from the web links on the left side frame on this site. But it is small and easy to use.

I became very interested after going through this book as it is very valuable for me. I think all devotees can go through it.

The book can be downloaded from HERE.

The introduction of the book is posted below...

"...For the world at large, where spiritual culture is rapidly degrading day by day, there is an urgent need to present the essence of the teachings of the spiritual masters in an accessible and concise form. The spectrum of spiritual literatures is truly unlimited, both in quantity and variety. However, it is the core essence of all those teachings which will do the greatest good to the human society at large. An optimized solution will be to sort out those literatures which are of greater benefit to the world in the present modern-day condition of humanity and present them in a concise and naturally intuitive, user friendly form that serves as a teacher to the reader. Such a book must be helpful to people at all levels of spiritual development across the wide spectrum of human society. The solution to all this is the GAURA BOOK.

The Gaura Ebook is a multi-role work, fulfilling many different purposes. Keeping the top priority of objectives in mind, it has been designed mainly with all the literatures dealing with spiritual instructions and the most essential books containing spiritual nectar for relishing, along with other supplementary literatures for various purposes. Along with this, affordability in terms of ebook size, portability, reduction in complexity and the load on the reader, easier distribution, are other factors necessary to achieve its spiritual goals. The Ebook, while being targeted for people at all levels of spiritual development, is particularly intended for those who are just beginning their spiritual development at various levels. In this aspect the very comprehensive introductory section is meant to introduce readers from present day walks of life to spiritual science right from the fundamental level onwards in both theory as well as practice.

The Gaura Ebook contains precisely just those important literatures that are necessary and sufficient to guide anyone along the spiritual path. It is possible to make very rapid spiritual advancement and attain spiritual perfection if the instructions in those literatures are just followed properly and carefully.

Some salient features of the Gaura Ebook are ease of use, quick accessibility, a carefully designed sorting scheme to arrange spiritual literatures by priority, and reduced search time -- all for the benefit of the readers. To make it more user friendly and intuitive, one of the main features is that the Gaura Ebook is designed completely for sequential reading. It has all the items sorted in the recommended reading order so that even readers new to spiritual science can be comfortable from the start.

In conclusion, this book will certainly make some difference in your lives for your spiritual benefit. If this book can help even one soul along their spiritual journey, it will have served its ultimate purpose -- to bring mankind to Godhead.

Sincerely,
KS

Nityaananda, the most merciful Holy Name of God

Dear friends,
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Yesterday by the occasion of the most auspicious appearance day of Lord Balaraam, i chanted His 1000 most powerful and beautiful Holy Names.

i think He got pleased with my tiny endeavour and blessed me with more concentration and taste for chanting His most important and merciful Holy Name of "Nityaananda", as i was experiencing it today while chanting.

The Holy Name of Nityaananda contains all the other Names of Lord Balaraam and is the most merciful Holy Name of God.

Let us remember some of the most important reasons, why one should chant Nityaananda's Holy Name, if one is serious about achieving perfection in this most degraded age of Kali Yuga.

(1) BECAUSE GREAT ACHARYAS HAVE DONE IT IN THE PAST:

Cc Adi 11.33:
navadvipe purusottama pandita mahasaya, nityananda-name yanra mahonmada haya

Purusottama Pandita, a resident of Navadvipa, was the Krishna's eighth gopala, Stoka-Krsna for Vrindavan. He would become almost mad as soon as he chanted or heard the holy name 'Nityananda'.

Cc Adi 11.34
balarama dasa--krsna-prema-rasasvadi, nityananda-name haya parama unmadi

Balarama dasa always fully tasted the nectar of love of Krsna. Upon chanting or hearing the name of 'Nityananda', he would become extremely maddened.

(2) BECAUSE THE NAME 'NITYANANDA' IMMEDIATELY EVOKES PURE LOVE OF KRISHNA EVEN IN A SINFUL PERSON

Chaitanya-charitamrita Adi-lila 8.23:
'nityananda' balite haya krsna-premodaya;aulaya sakala anga,asru-ganga vaya.

"Simply by chanting the name 'Nityananda' one awakens his love for Krsna.

Thus all his bodily limbs are agitated by ecstasy of love of God, and tears flow from his eyes like the waters of the Ganges."

(3) BECAUSE ANYONE WHO EVEN HEARS 'NITYANANDA' ONCE CERTAINLY ACHIEVES KRISHNA

Chaitanya-bhagavata, Adi-khanda 9.385:
nityananda-hena bhakta sunile sravane; avasya paibe krsnacandra sei jane.

Shripada Madhavendera Puri states:

"If one simply hears the name 'Nityananda', he will most certainly attain the lotus feet of Lord Krishnacandra irrespective of any other consideration."

125. "Anyone who just once his life speaks the word 'Nityananda' becomes purified. He becomes My pure devotee."
(Chaitanya Mangala, Madhya Khanda, Deliverance of Jagai n Madhai)

(4) BECAUSE WITHOUT NITYANANDA ONE CAN NEVER ACHIEVE THE MERCY OF GAURANGA EVEN AFTER WORSHIPING GAURANGA FOR A MINIMUM 100 LIVES

From Shri Navadvipa-dhama-mahatmya, Chp 4:
tumi yabe kara daya sei anayase; sri caitanya-pada paya prema-jale bhase.

Srila Jiva tells Lord Nityananda, "If You are merciful on someone, that person will effortlessly achieve the lotus feet of Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu and thus drown in the ocean of pure ecstatic love for Lord Krsna.

tomara karuna vina gaura nahi paya, sata janma bhaje yadi gauranga hiyaya.

"But if someone does not get Your mercy, then such a person will never achieve Lord Gaura even if he or she worships Lord Gauranga for a minimum of 100 lifetimes."

Chaitanya-charitamrita Antya 6.131:
tomara krpa vina keha'caitanya' na paya;tumi krpa kaile tanre adhameha paya.

"No one can attain the shelter of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu without Your (Lord Nityananda's) mercy, but if You are merciful, even the lowest of men can attain shelter at His lotus feet."

(5) BECAUSE IF GAURANGA'S PUNISHES, NITYANANDA PROTECTS US BUT IF NITYANANDA PUNISHES THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE

From Shri Navadvipa-dhama-mahatmya, Chp 4: Jiva Goswami to Lord Nityananda:
gaura danta kara yadi tumi raksa kara, tumi yare danta kara gaura tara para.

"If Lord Gauranga punishes a devotee, You (Nityananda) protect him and somehow engage him in Gauranga's service (like in the example of Kala Krsnadasa), but if You punish a devotee, he eternally becomes estranged from Lord Gauranga."

(6) BECAUSE NITYANANDA'S NAME ARE FORM ARE FULL OF SUPREME ETERNAL BLISS

Chaitanya-bhagavata, Madhya-khanda 12.18:
name nityananda tumi, rupe nityananda; ei tumi nityananda rama murttimanta.

Lord Gauranga tells Lord Nityananda:

"Your name is Nityananda (eternally full of eternal bliss). Your form is also Nityananda (eternally full of eternal bliss). Your are Nityananda (unlimited bliss) in personified form because You are Lord Balarama Himself."

(7) BECAUSE WITHOUT NITYANANDA ONE CAN NEVER ACHIEVE RADHA-KRSNA AND VRINDAVNA-DHAMA

Chaitanya-charitamrita Adi 5.204:
jaya jaya nityananda-caranaravinda, yanha haite painu sri-radha-govinda

"All glory, all glory to the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda, by whose mercy I have attained Sri Radha-Govinda!"

Shrila Narottama das Thakura sings:
heno nitai vine bhai, radha-krishna paite nai

"Unless one worships Nityananda, one can never achieve Radha-Krsna."

nitae karuna habe vraje radha-krsna pabe

"If Nityananda is merciful, only then one will achieve the direct service of Radha-Krsna in Vraja."

(8) BECAUSE NO ONE IN THIS CREATION BUT ONLY NITYANANDA CAN BESTOW MERCY ON THE MOST FALLEN SOULS LIKE US

Chaitanya-charitamrita Adi 5.207:
emana nirghrna more keba krpa kare, eka nityananda vinu jagat bhitare

"Who in this creation but Lord Nityananda could show His mercy to such an abominable, comtemptible and the lowest person as me?

(9) BECAUSE LORD NITYANANDA BESTOWS MERCY WITHOUT EVEN CONSIDERING OUR QUALIFICATION

Chaitanya-charitamrita Adi 5.208-9:
preme matta nityananda krpa-avatara, uttama, adhama, kichu na kare vicara

"Because He is always fully intoxicated by ecstatic love for Lord Gauranga, He is an incarnation of causeless mercy. Thus He does not distinguish between the good and the bad people because He Himself is always intoxicated in pure love.

ye age padaye, tare karaye nistara, ataeva nistarila mo-hena duracara

"He indiscriminately delivers all those who simply fall down before Him.

Therefore He has delivered such a sinful and fallen person as me."

(10) BECAUSE LORD NITYANANDA IMMEDIATELY BESTOWS HIS TOPMOST MERCY PLEASED AT A SLIGHTEST SERVICE RENDERED BY US

Cc Adi 5.181:
bhaike bhartsinu muni, lana ei guna, sei ratre prabhu more dila darasana

"That night Lord Nityananda personally appeared to me in a dream in His most enchanting form and placed His lotus feet on my head and gave me eternal residence in Shri Vrindavana-dhama simply because I defended His glories and that of His intimate associate Minaketana Ramadasa while quarelling with my brother who had faith in Lord Gauranga but only a shadow of faith in Lord Nityananda." (WHAT A MERCIFUL LORD!)

(11) BECAUSE THE NAME 'NITYANANDA' IN A MANTRA ALSO

According to Jaiva Dharma all the names of Gauranga are actually mantras, and the Lord should be worshiped through these namatmaka-mantras. Thus the name 'Nityananda' is also actually a mantra and He should be worshiped by chanting this namatmaka-mantra.

(12) BECAUSE ANYONE WHO HAS NO RELATION WITH NITYANANDA BY THE REGULAR CHANTING OF HIS NAME HAS WASTED HIS LIFE AND IS JUST LIKE AN ANIMAL

sei pasu boro duracar
nitai na bolilo mukhe, majilo samsara-sukhe
vidya-kule ki koribe tar (Narottama das Thakura)

"Anyone who has not established his relationship with Nityananda Prabhu by chanting His name 'Nityananda' is understood to have spoiled his valuable human birth. Such a human being is actually an uncontrollable animal.

Because he never uttered the holy name 'Nityananda', he has become merged into so-called material happiness. What can his useless education and family tradition do to save him from the cycle of birth and death?"

(13) BECAUSE BY CHANTING NITYANANDA'S NAME SINFUL REACTIONS OF UNLIMITED NO. OF LIVES ARE IMMEDIATELY DESTROYED

Sri Navadvipa-dhama-mahatmya, Chp 1, states:

gauranga-nitai yei bale eka bara; ananta karama-dosa anta haya tara.

"The most fortunate person who chants the names Nityananda and Gauranga just once immediately destroys the unlimited sinful reactions accumulated for unlimited number of lives in the past."

(14) BECAUSE BY CHANTING NITYANANDA'S NAME, KRISHNA-PREM COMES SEARCHING AFTER THAT PERSON. ONE ACHIEVES KRISHNA-PREM EVEN WITH OFFENSES IN HIS HEART AND THEN OFFENSES FLEE. WHAT A SUBLIME AND EASY WAY TO GET KRISHNA-PREM.

nitai-caitanya bali yei jiva dake; suvimala krsna-prema anvesaye thake.

"If one feelingly and loudly calls out the names of Nityananda and Gauranga, the purest Krsna-prema (pure love of Krsna) comes searching after such a person."

aparadha badha tara kichu nahi kare; nirmala krsna-preme tara ankhi jhare.

"The offenses (which may be present) don't create any obstacles in path of achieving this love and tears start flowing from his eyes in pure ecstatic love."

svalpa kale aparadha apani palaya; hrdaya sodhita haya prema bade taya.

"In a very short, the offenses themselves flee and the heart becomes completely purified and thus the love furthur increases.

(15) BECAUSE IN THE NAME OF NITYANANDA THERE ARE NO OFFENSES

Cc Adi 8.31
caitanya-nityanande nahi esaba vicara, nama laite prema dena, vahe asrudhara

"But if one only chants, with some slight faith, the holy names of Lord Gauranga and Nityananda, very quickly he is cleansed of all offenses. Since in the chanting of the names of Nityananda-Gauranga there is no consideration of offenses, one will very quickly come to the stage of love of God, simply by chanting Their names and tears of pure love for Krishna will flow from the eyes."

PURPORT BY SRILA PRABHUPADA:

[...] There are offenses to be considered in chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, but there are no such considerations in chanting the names of Gaura-Nityananda. Therefore, if one chants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra but his life is still full of sinful activities, it will be very difficult for him to achieve the platform of loving service to the Lord. But if in spite of being an offender one chants the holy names of Gaura-Nityananda, he is very quickly freed from the reactions to his offenses. Therefore, one should first approach Lord Caitanya and Nityananda, or worship Guru-Gauranga, and then come to the stage of worshiping Radha-Krsna. [...] One should first take shelter of Gaura-Nityananda in order to reach, ultimately, Radha-Krsna."

[...]"For an ordinary man, worship of Sri Caitanya and Nityananda Prabhu or the Panca-tattva is easier than worship of Radha and Krsna. Unless one is very fortunate, he should not be induced to worship Radha-Krsna directly. A neophyte student who is not sufficiently educated or enlightened should not indulge in the worship of Sri Radha and Krsna or the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra. Even if he does so, he cannot get the desired result. One should therefore chant the names of Nitai-Gaura and worship Them without false prestige."

PURPORT BY SHRILA BHAKTISIDDHANTA SARASVATI THAKURA PRABHUPADA:

[...] "The Hare Krsna maha-mantra considers the offenses whereas the names of Gaura-Nityananda don't consider offenses. An offensive chanter will never achieve the fruit of chanting (pure love for Krsna) by chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. Therefore till the time he is commiting offenses, he should chant the names of Gaura-Nityananda. Due the repeated chanting of the names of Gaura-Nityananda, the offenses will destroyed and he will achieve the fruit of chanting."

[...]"The name of Krsna and Gaura-Both are non-different than the named Lord. Those who think that Krsna is any way inferior or limited than Gaura are in gross ignorance. But in practical considerations with respect to benefit awarded to the conditioned souls, the chanting of Sri Gaura-Nityananda's Name is more useful and helpful for everyone. Krsna's mercy is generally only upon liberated or perfected souls who are surrendered to Him. But the magnanimity of Lord Gaura-Nityananda is especially for the souls who are offenders and full of anarthas and desires for material sense-gratification. The chanting of Lord Gaura-Nityananda's name and Their worship quickly delivers the soul from all the offenses and thus the soul achieves shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Gaura-Krsna."

(16) BECAUSE ONE CAN NEVER EVEN VISIT VRINDAVANA WITHOUT ACHIEVING THE MERCY OF NITYANANDA AND GAURANGA

Cc Adi 8.3 purport:

"In the beginning one should very regularly chant Sri Gaurasundara's holy name and then chant the holy name of Lord Nityananda. Thus one's heart will be cleansed of impure desires for material enjoyment. Then one can approach Vrndavana-dhama to worship Lord Krsna. Unless one is favored by Lord Caitanya and Nityananda, there is no need to go to Vrndavana, for unless one's mind is purified, he cannot see Vrndavana, even if he goes there."

CONCLUSION:

One can worship Lord Nityananda in the topmost manner by chanting His Holy Name (atleast 1008 times or 10 rounds) daily along with atleast 10 rounds of Lord Gaurangas Name and 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra and by daily reading (1 chapter of) Chaitanya-Bhagavata daily which is the topmost scripture on the glories of Lord Nityananda composed by His most confidential associate Shrila Vrindavana dasa Thakura. Nitai-Gaura Premanande!

Re: General

why some  old Swamijis some of them are Sanyasi for long time and are Spiritual Initiating Gurus are severely suffering from diseases?

In the case on non-fully-perfect devotees, they have to suffer some of their karma since they are not 100% surrendered to Lord Gaura Krishna. If one is 50% surrendered to the Lord, the Lord removes 50% of the karma and one has to still face some effects of the remaining 50% karma.

But in the case of fully perfect pure devotees also, we may see that they sometimes externally "suffer" like the example you have quoted about King Dasharatha, the pure devotee father of Lord Raama. This is not actually material suffering. Pure devotees are seen to "suffer" due to the following three reasons.

(1) First is because the Lord wants their glories to be known widely known because when there is suffering in the lives of pure devotees, they become more attached to the Lord and their glory shines even more. Also, by their example during suffering, the conditioned souls can learn and understand from the example of the pure devotees, how to react to suffering in their lives by surrendering to the Lord even more during these times.

(2) Secondly, the Lord wants to stop unqualified, materialistic and egotistic people from approaching and disturbing the pure devotee. Thus He deliberately puts that pure devotee in some distress so that materialistic people think that this pure devotee is an ordinary person and they don't go and disturb his or her bhajana. And thus the pure devotee can relish the Holy Names peacefully in the association of other sincere devotees and disciples.

(3) The third reason is an internal reason. Feeling separation (which may look like suffering externally but actually in extremely blissful within) from the Lord increases and heightens the intensity of the pure devotee's love for the Lord and that makes the pure devotee even more quailified to directly participate in the Lord's pastimes. It also shows to the world the ultimate nature of pure love which is that a pure devotee cannot even live for a moment without the Lord.

For all these reasons, pure devotees are sometimes seen to externally "suffer". But iinternally they are experiencing the highest bliss of pure love for Lord Gaura Krishna during these times.

jaya jaya navadvipa-chandra shachi-suta, jaya jaya nityaananda raaya avadhuta. 1

jaya jaya shri advaita prabhu mahaashaya, gadaadhara shrivaasa pandita jaya jaya. 2

jaya navadvipa dhaama sarva-dhaama-saara, jaya navadvipa-vaasi gaura-parivaara. 3

sakala bhakata-pade kariyaa pranaama, sankshepe varniba aami navadvipa-dhaama. 4

navadvipa-mandalera mahimaa apaara, brahmaa aadi naahi jaane varne saadhya kaara. 5

sahasra vadane shesha varnite akshama, kshudra-jiva aami kise haiba sakshama. 6

satya bate navadvipa mahimaa ananta, deva-deva mahaadeva naahi paaya anta. 7

tathaapi chaitanya-chandra icchaa balavaana, sei iccha vashe bhakta aagyaara vidhaana. 8

bhakta-gane aagyaa dila chaitanya-icchaaya, nadiyaa-mahaatmya varni bhaktera kripaaya. 9

aara eka kathaa aache gudha atishaya, kahite na icchaa haya, naa kahile naya. 10

An queda otro secreto extremadamente profundo y confidencial.

je avadhi shri chaitanya aprakata haila, dhaama-lilaa prakaashite bhakte aagyaa dila. 11

sarva avataara haite gudha avataara, shri chaitanya-chandra mora vidita samsaara. 12

gudha-lilaa shaastre gudha-rupe ukta haya, abhakta janera chitte naa haya udaya. 13

aprakata shaastra bahu rahe yathaa tathaa, prakata shaastre o jata chaitanyera kathaa. 15
se sakala maayaadevi pandita-nayana, aavariyaa raakhe gupta-bhaave anukshana. 16

gaurera gambhira lilaa haile aprakata, prabhu-icchaa jaani maayaa haya akapata. 17

uthaaiya laila jaala jiva-cakshu haite, prakaashila gaura-tattva e jada jagate. 18

gupta-shaastra anaayaase haila prakata, ghuchila jivera jata yuktira sankata. 19

badai dayaalu prabhu nityaananda-raaya, gaura-tattva prakaashila jivera hiyaaya. 20

taanra aagyaa peye maayaa chaade aavarana, subhakta pandita-gana paaya shaastra-dhana. 21

je kaale ishvara jei kripaa vitaraya, bhaagyavanta jana taahe bada sukhi haya. 23

durbhaagaa-lakshana ei jaana sarva-jana, nija buddhi bada bali kariyaa ganana. 24

ishvarera kripaa naahi karaya svikaara, kutarke maayaara garte pade baara baara. 25

esha he kalira jiva chaada kutinaati, nirmala gauraanga-prema laha paripaati. 26

kena je emana preme kare anaadara, vichaara kariyaa dekha haiyaa tatpara. 28

sukha-laagi sarva jiva naanaa yukti kare, tarka kare, yoga kare, samsaara-bhitare. 29

sukha-laagi samsaara chaadiyaa vane jaaya, sukha-laagi yuddha kare rajaaya rajaaya. 30

sukha-laagi kaamini-kanaka paache dhaya, sukha-laagi shilpa aara vigyaana chalaaya. 31

sukha-laagi sukha chaade klesha shiksha kare, sukha-lagi arnava madhyete dube mare. 32

nityaananda bale daaki du haate tuliyaa, esha jiva karma-gyaana-sankata chaadiya. 33

sukha-laagi ceshtaa tava, aami taahaa diba, taara vinimaye aami kichu na laiba. 34

kashta naahi vyaya naai naa paabe jaatanaa, shri gauraanga bali naache naahika bhaavanaa. 35

je sukha aami ta diba taara naai sama, sarvadaa vimalaananda naahi taara bhrama. 36

ei rupe prema yaache nityaananda raaya, abhaagaa karama doshe taaha naahi chaaya. 37

gauraanga nitaai jei bale eka baara, ananta karama dosha anta haya taara. 38

aara eka gudha kathaa suna sarva-jana, kali-jive yogya-vastu gaura-lilaa-dhana. 39

gaurahari raadhaa-krishna-rupe vrindaavane, nitya-kaala vilaasa karaye sakhi-sane. 40

shaastrete jaanila jiva vraja-lilaa-tattva, raadhaa-krishna-nitya-lilaa vrajera mahatva. 41

krishna-naama krishna-dhaama mahaatmya apaara, shaastrera dvaaraaya jaane sakala samsaara. 42

tabu krishna-prema saadhaarane naahi paaya, ihaara kaarana kiba chintaha hiyaaya. 43

ihaate aache ta eka gudha-tattva saara, maayaa-mugdha jiva taahaa naa kare vichaara. 44

bahu janma krishna bhaji prema naahi haya, aparaadha-punja taara aachaya nischaya. 45

aparaadha-shunya haye laya krishna-naama, tabe jiva krishna-prema labhe aviraama. 46

shri chaitanya avataara bada vilakshana, aparaadha-sattve jiva labhe prema-dhana. 47

nitaai chaitanya bali jei jiva daake, suvimala krishna-prema anveshaya taake. 48

aparaadha baadhaa tara kichu naahi kare, niramala krishna-preme taara ankhi jhare. 49

svalpa kaale aparaadha aapani palaaya, hridaya shodhita haya prema baadhe taaya. 50

kali-jivera aparaadha asankhya durvaara, gaura-naama vinaa taara naahika uddhaara. 51

ataeva gaura vinaa kalite upaaya, naa dekhi kothaa-o-aara shaastra phukaaraya. 52

navadvipe gaurachandra haila udaya, navadvipa sarva-tirtha-avatamsha haya. 53

anya tirthe aparaadhi dandera bhaajana, navadvipe aparaadha sadaai maarjana. 54

taara saakshi jagaai maadhaai dui bhaai, aparaadha kari paaila chaitanya-nitaai. 55

anyaanya tirthera kathaa raakha bhaai dure, aparaadhi daitya danda paaya vraja-pure. 56

navadvipe shata shata aparaadha kari, anaayaase nitaai-kripaaya jaaya tari. 57

hena navadvipa-dhaama je gauda-mandale, dhanya dhanya sei desha rishi-gana bale. 58

hena navadvipe bhaai jaahaara vasati, bada bhaagyavaan sei labhe krishna-rati. 59

navadvipe jebaa kabhu karaya gamana, sarva aparaadha-mukta haya sei jana. 60

sarva tirtha bhramiya tairthika jaahaa paaya, navadvipa-smarane sei laabha shaastre gaaya. 61

navadvipa darashana kare jei jana, janme janme labhe sei krishna-prema-dhana. 62

karma-buddhi-yoge o je navadvipe jaaya, nara-janma aara sei jana naahi paaya. 63

navadvipe vasi jei mantra japa kare, shri mantra chaitanya haya anaayaase tare. 65

anya tirthe yogi dasha-varshe labhe jaahaa, navadvipe tina-raatre saadhi paaya taahaa. 66

anya tirthe brahma-gyaane jei mukti haya, navadvipe bhaagirathi-snaane taa ghataya. 67

saalokya, saarupya, saarshti, saamipya, nirvana, navadvipe mumukshu labhaya vinaa gyaana. 68

navadvipe shuddha-bhakta-charane padiyaa, bhukti-mukti sadaa rahe daasi-rupa haiyaa. 69

shata-varsha sapta-tirthe mile jaaha bhaai, navadvipe eka raatra-vaase taaha paai. 71

hena navadvipa dhaama sarva-dhaama saara, kalite aashraya kari jiva haya paara. 72

taaraka paaraka vidyaadvaya avirata, navadvipa vaasi gane seve ritimata. 73

Process of faith

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

"To that extent one has faith in Gauranga Mahaprabhu, to that extent one has faith in Nityananda Prabhu, to that extent one will get close to Gauranga. And to that extent one has faith in Gauranga Mahaprabhu, to that extent one will become dear to the gopis. And to that extent one is dear to the gopis, one will become dear to Shrimati Radharani. And to the extent one is dear to Shrimati Radharani, one will become dear to Lord Krishna." Swami Gaurangapada

Taken from a lecture of Swami Gaurangapada entitled Faith and Judgement.

Yours in service,

Re: Global Hunger and Vegetarianism

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

I don't want to seem like by posting the above article I am against organic foods. I certainly agree that homegrown is best, organic from a local farmers market is next best, and store bought, certified organic is third best.

Running to Gauranga

Dear Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances.  All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada!  All glories to the assembled devotees!

Today, I started a new shift at work so I had to go to work even earlier only to realized that my early shift starts tomorrow so I went back home and chanted more rounds because I did not need to be at work until  9:15 am.  Around 8:00 am, I called my job to see if they will need me to start at my appointed time or not, to which my superior informs me that things will operate as scheduled, and then she asked if I could pick up a Sunday newspaper for her on my way back to the office.  I told her that was  no trouble, so I grab my bag and I headed over to the convenient store which is only around the corner from where I live.  So I purchase the requested item, and I walked to work.  I always walk to and from work so I try to use this time to spend with Nitaii Gauranga.

Now, I arrive at work.  I give my boss her newspaper and I go sit at my desk and I started  reading a book called "Illuminations on Nama Aparadha" by Mahanidhi Swami which I carry always in my back pock.  I was sitting there for about 15 minutes reading and thinking when on sudden I realized that my personal bag was not at my desk.  I went around the whole office like a mad man looking for my bag and I could not find.  It was only then that I accepted the fact that I had left my bag at the store, so I started running back to the store in my work apparel.

I think I should explain what was in the bag.  The bag had my pray beads, the Nectar of Instruction, Sri Brahma Samhita, Sri Isopanisad, and other personals.

But as I was running at first all I could think about is my books Lord Gauranga had given to me to read, and how I hoped no one would steal them.  Then I thought, all these things belong to Lord Gauranga and he can do as he like.  Then I thought I hope someone does steal it because the thief would get the greatest surprise of his or her life.  Then I thought that the thief would probably mistreat something so precious, and then I started running faster.  Then I thought, let them take the bag and all the other stuff, but let your acharyas not be maltreated.

Then a voice asked mentally: what can these thieves take?
I answered: Nothing.  They can take nothing for me.
Voice: Even if a great thief stole all the books and burnt them, you have already been given the highest solution to all problems.
Me: Harinam! Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna  Hare Krsna  Krsna Krsna  Hare Hare  Hare Rama  Hare Rama  Hare Hare!

As I go into the store, a man was asking  some people if the bag in the store belonged to anyone.  I  told the shop keeper that the bag behind the counter was mine.  He told me that I was lucky because usually these people around here steal anything.

On my walk back to work, I thought of Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna and my heart felt like it was going to burst even more than ever before.
Lord Gauranga had revealed something to me about my bhakti.

I must be willing to be like a madman chasing after Gauranga, there is no compromise.
There should be some agitation, some urgency in bhakti.  (Running)

What little advancement I have made is only because I have been given shelter by Swami Gaurangapada, and it should not be taken advantage of.

I have realized bhakti is both  powerful and fragile.  You take your mind away from Nitaii Gauranga for even a minute and everything can be taken away.

The only weakness in bhakti is the user, not bhakti itself.

Hare Krsna,

Bruce

Also, I can someone tell me if satsang and darshan is offered over the internet by Swami Gaurangapada, and if so at what time?

Re: Global Hunger and Vegetarianism

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
Dandavats and obeissances.

Organic food may not have more nutrients than conventionally grown food but it doesn't have the pesticides that come with conventionally grown food. These cancer causing pesticides are the main reason people buy organic foods.  I would suggest that one grow their own or find some locally grown produce at a farmers market. I get most of my produce free from people who have gardens.

Hari Bol!

(GERMAN) 10. Srila Prabhupada über Nityananda Gauranga Naam (12)

Re: 01 Introductory Glories of Shri Navadvipa Dhaama

I am grateful to Ananta Raama dasa prabhu for proof-reading this most important chapter in all Holy Books. I have also re-edited this whole chapter very thoroughly quite a few times and I think it is almost ready and finalized now to be included as the main portion in the upcoming booklet, The Secret of All Secrets. It can also be translated into other languages now to reveal the most hidden secret of this Kali Yuga to one and all. This one chapter completely summarizes the essence of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama-Lilaa-Dhaama Tattva and NITAAI Yoga. Nityananda!! Gauranga!! Hare Krishna!! All Gllories to Shri Guru Parampara!

Re: Global Hunger and Vegetarianism

What are devotees thoughts about this article?

LONDON (Reuters) - Organic food has no nutritional or health benefits over ordinary food, according to a major study published Wednesday.

Researchers from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine said consumers were paying higher prices for organic food because of its perceived health benefits, creating a global organic market worth an estimated $48 billion in 2007.

A systematic review of 162 scientific papers published in the scientific literature over the last 50 years, however, found there was no significant difference.

"A small number of differences in nutrient content were found to exist between organically and conventionally produced foodstuffs, but these are unlikely to be of any public health relevance," said Alan Dangour, one of the report's authors.

"Our review indicates that there is currently no evidence to support the selection of organically over conventionally produced foods on the basis of nutritional superiority."

The results of research, which was commissioned by the British government's Food Standards Agency, were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Sales of organic food have fallen in some markets, including Britain, as recession has led consumers to cut back on purchases.

The Soil Association said in April that growth in sales of organic products in Britain slowed to just 1.7 percent in 2008, well below the average annual growth rate of 26 percent over the last decade, following a plunge in demand at the end of the year.

Re: What is really there in the Lord's heart

Dear devotees,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! I apologise for not adding my greetings at the top, so I do so here. To continue with the realization:

And finally in the end,  pure devotional service is revealed as the goal of life.

The purpose of everything is LOVE

The impersonalists are so far away that they cannot approach the first verse of the chatuh sloki bhagavatam...Like licking the surface of the bottle containing honey. And they all declare themselves God only by trying to neutralise the real Lord by making him impersonal. So Lord Chaitanya never really shows his mercy to them.

Swami: Yes, krishna bhakti haya antardhana

me: That was about a summary of it...but it was amazing to actually experience what I only read about before

I was seeing it like live...the chatuh sloki bhagavatam -- the rest of all spiritual knowledge is revealed only from there..and our acharyas have revealed that

As a matter of fact, simply the truth that Lord Chaitanya is the Supreme Lord...Gaura lila is alone enough to destroy all mayavadism in the material world.

And lastly this

Bhagavad Gita

So many people interpret the Bhagavat Gita whimsically...But in the 12th chapter the Lord reveals His heart...When he says that His devotees are the most perfected souls. And he goes on to say that he who is a perfect devotee is very very dear to Him. Nowhere else in the Gita does He say it anywhere that anything else is dear.

That's where His heart is revealed -- He ultimately only wants the love of His devotees

me: He really does not support any other path in his heart

And you know when it comes ... one thing becomes obvious...These wonderful realizations are always going on all the time

me: I have to allow the Lord in my heart. He always knocks, but if we don't give Him room, we don't become part of that wonderful spiritual life

This was a wonderful piece of revelation which the Lord revealed. And I am eager to share it with you all. Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!

Daaso'smi,
Srinath
