Here is tonights Srimad Bhagavatam audio reading, from the chapter entitled, 'Prahlada pacifies the Lord with Prayers'.

Canto 7 Chapter 9 Verse 31
After Lord Narasimha had killed the demon Hiranyakasipu, the Lord exhibited transcendental anger which greatly perturbed the Demigods. Thus the Demigods requested Prahlada to pacify the Lord with prayers. This image shows the pacified Lord. In fact, Sridhara Swami in his Bhagavatam commentary describes this dual feature:

"Although quite ferocious, the lioness is kind to her cubs. Similarly, though fearsome to nondevotees like Hiranyakasipu, Lord Narasimha is incredibly soft and kind to pure devotees like Prahlada."

Three New Virtual Books

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna! Jaya Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga! Along with the 'Nityananda Gauranga Naam book' pictured on the right, two other books have been completed for Nitaai Virtual tonight. The book on the left is 'Sharanagati - by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura', and in the middle is one of my most favorite books, 'The Golden Volcano of Divine Love - by Srila BR Sridhara Goswami'.

The dream is to oneday be able to afford funding a slightly bigger parcel of land in Second Life. And set up a public library with many of the Gaudiya Vaisnava Literatures. Maybe some several hundred or so books, each with URL links when possible.

In real life I have always dreamed of managing a herbal tea house, with some nice bhajan music, nice seating, and some nice books. Something that would be comfortable for devotees and wellwishers alike. So who knows....we may do something like this in virtual reality land in the future. In the meantime we will continue with our small, but intimate, Nitaai Sangha Virtual as it is. To be honest I kind of like simple ventures. Just like real life :-)

So next I will begin working at producing more of Swami Gaurangapada's writings for Second Life. If any devotee is reading this blog and would also consider building and distributing books in Second life.....drop me a message. I would love to see your creative service in spreading the glories of Sri Gauranga-Krsna.

Why not....in every town, city, and village....and every virtual land! Maha-Brhat Mrdanga ki jaya!

ps...one more thing....my ideal is to offer free services in Second life (Nitaai Sangha Virtual). So all my products will be distributed for no fee or cost. And all books will be copyable. In second life free stuff is called 'freebies'. The freebies pass from one person to another like a network...so lets hope the books spread far and wide, and multiply.

Also in time I will learn how to make Krsna clothing and accessories. So if new devotees turn up for virtual service there will be plenty of items to get you all started. Take care....Nitai-Gauranga Haribol!

Nityananda Gauranga Naam Book Release

Jaya Swami Gaurangapada! Jaya Srila Prabhupada! Tonight I am very pleased to announce the completion of, 'Nityananda Gauranga Naam Book' by Swami Gaurangapada, for Nitaai Sangha Virtual.

This release is the full version except for the chanting table which I will include here.
The Nitaai Sangha Virtual version of 'Nityananda Gauranga Naam Book' is in both 2D and 3D format....the actual book contains direct links to url and also can be fully read 'inworld'. You can see it here in the picture to the right of Nava Homewood (my virtual identity).

It is a very very important book that holds the highest treasure for the most fallen in Kali Yuga. Their Lordships Nityananda-Gauranga are the most merciful incarnations in this age of Kali. They have come to give the highest treasure of Love of God, without considering the qualification of the recipients. Infact by taking 'regular' shelter of Their Holy Names ecstatic love of God will begin to appear in one's heart very quickly, even when the heart is still full of material desires. And because of the sweet nectar of this Love, all the material desires will quickly flee from the heart, leaving the heart pristine and pure. Leaving the soul to fully worship Sri Sri Radha-Krsna in love, without offence.

Please consider an indepth study of this book, reflect on it, and meditate on it. Please do not cast it aside lightly. The treasure and gift contained within it is infact 'the rarest treasure', and 'the secret of all secrets'. For it sings the Glories of the Holy Names of Nityananda and Gauranga!

Todays Reading Srimad Bhagavatam 7.9.30

Earlier I read today's Srimad Bhagavatam verse and had no idea what I should talk about or elaborate on. Then the day in Second Life Nitaai Virtual Sangha unfolded, and one very special soul visited and shared his realizations, which confirmed a discussion I had with Swami Gaurangapada earlier. So the process of 'hearing and chanting' the glories of Krsna continue. We hear and then we chant....thanks to one very kind soul today, I realized what to chant after I listened and heard.

Here is today's reading and small realizations from my heart, I hope it can be a blessing in some small way....Srimad Bhagavatam 7.9.30.

Please listen with the ears of your heart, and realize with the eyes of your soul....then chant the glories of Sri GaurangaKrsna!

Daily Virtual Bhagavatam Classes - 3D

I often relish living in Kali-yuga, especially this Kali-yuga. For in this age the most fortunate souls have had an opportunity to hear of the extremely merciful incarnation for this age, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Just over 500 years ago Sri Chaitanya prophesied that His Name would be heard in every town and village.

I have had the good fortune of taking shelter under a spiritual master who instructed me to continue this spreading of Sri Chaitanya's Name in everytown and village.
We live in exciting times where the world is gradually becoming smaller, and Sri Chaitanya's vision is very tangible.

So why not take this 'in every town and village' even further. Why not into virtual reality worlds. Spiritual life is all about applying things in Krsna consciousness. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada coined the phrase 'utilization', and Srila Prabhupada called this 'dovetailing in Krsna consciousness'.

How can Sri Chaitanya's Name be heard in every town and village? Surely with today's and the futures internet technologies such can be the reality!

The virtual reality world, 'Second Life' is one such way that this may happen. 3D internet technologies are at the beginning stages of development. And in time they will be great places for meeting, teaching, and also for spiritual practice.
Presently I am in the process of organizing daily Srimad Bhagavatam classes and other spiritual activities in Second Life. Basically I am incorporating my daily spiritual practices alongside the computer. So most things like kirtan, food offerings, jaap, and scripture study , I will also perform 'in world' in 'real time'.

You may hear a sample of a Bhagavatam class I have just given tonight here: Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 7 chapter 9 verse 28.

Very soon I will be running daily classes on the Bhagavatam even if no one turns up to hear. Because I will be performing this service in my small temple room, in real life anyway. So why not put the headset on, and turn the computer on, and sing the glories of Sri GaurangaKrishna throughout the net!

Chanting Mahaprabhu's Glories in Virtual Reality

The Nitaai Sangha (virtual community) is serving under the direct guidance of H.H. Bhaktiratna Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada. Swami Gaurangapada is also a second life resident (Gaurangapada Jie), and will be visiting from time to time to give classes.
We are a small international community who seeks to share the beauty of Bhakti Yoga, and the benefits of the regular chanting of the Holy Names of Nityananda! Gauranga! and Hare Krsna!

We are a bonafide spiritual movement, and followers of the Divine Incarnation of Love, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (Sri Gauranga).

This chanting of the Holy Names is an eternal practice, and means to full enlightenment (ecstatic Love of God). This Naam Yoga has been practiced by sages since time immemorial. In this age of Kali yuga, the soft chanting (japa) and loud chanting (kirtana) of the Holy Names is the most beneficial and direct means of liberation and happiness, culminating in the ever-new ecstacies of Love of God.
As God is absolute, his Name and Form are non-different, unlike name and form in this material world which are always different.

All things in this material world have beginning and end, everything is temporary. Even happiness is fleeting, coming and going. But the living entities are not these bodies and minds, they are spirit souls, parts and particles of the Divine Spirit. True lasting and permanent happiness is the intrinsic quality of the soul. Therefore by the process of chanting the Holy Names of God, which are non-different to God, the living entity awakens to its 'true self' (original nature). The true self, being in quality non-different to God, is by constitution eternal and full of unlimited bliss!
Please remember, you are not these bodies, both in Real Life and Second Life, you are spirit soul. Realizing this is your first instruction and step in real spiritual existence, and lasting happiness.

Please always chant Nityananda! Gauranga! and Hare Krsna! and be forever happy.
