Followers of Nitaai Gaura and mixture of rasas
Dear Swami Gaurangapada Maharaja,
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances.
While reading about Shri Gadadhara dasa from the book "Associates of Lord Chaitanya" i found following quite interesting statement of Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada about Shri Gadadhara dasa:
"In the Gaura-ganoddesha-dipika, he is said to be the manifestation of Radhas opulence. He is counted amongst the followers of both Gaura and Nityananda. As a follower of Gaura, he relished the mood of conjugal love, while as a follower of Nityananda, he is in the mood of pure devotional service in friendship, etc. Although Gadadhara Das was an associate of Nityananda, his mood of friendship is not that of a cowherd boy, but is in the conjugal mood."
My questions:
This seems like a mixture of rasas (friendship + conjugal). How is that to be understood? Is it common that the followers of both Nityananda and Gauranga have this sort of mixed rasas (or more rasas simultaneously)?
What about Shri Gauridasa Pandita? i think He has a similar mood (in terms of mixed sakhya with madhurya) to that one of Shri Gadadhara dasa...
Is it possible for one to relish different rasas according to one's association either with Gaura or Nitaai (or both)?
Awaiting eagerly Your illuminating answers,
Matus
