Re: Gautam Buddha is not the Vishnu Buddha of the Vedas

Respected Swamiji and Vaisnavas,

       Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Jaya Visnupada Srila Prabhupada!

Jaya Swami Gaurangpada!

All glories to the guru parampara!

All glories to the Vaisnavas!

I fall at your feet repeatedly as I find no words to glorify your mercy in forgiving sinful souls like us. If you did not forgive us, no one in material creation could get any bhakti at all.

Thank you for raising some important clarifications on the Buddha Avatara. In this regard I suggest reading the book written by Srila Bhakta Prajnana Kesava Gosvami Maharaja called "Beyond Nirvana. The philosophy of Mayavadism".  It deals with the full subject matter at length.

One important point in this book is that it mentions a completely different history of another Sankaracharya, who is considered in South India (from where I am) as Abhinava Shakaracharya, who clearly appears to be different from the Adi Sankaracharya considered as an incarnation of Siva. I have heard that this history is supported by the Madhva School.

In your service,

Daaso'smi,

Srinath
