The Process of NITAAI Yoga Summarized
Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna! NITAAI Yoga is totally free, but still it is the most sublime. It is the blissful process of connecting with God by Mantra Meditation i.e. by the supremely powerful sound vibration of the Nityaananda (NITAAI) Mantraraaja, Gauraanga (GAURA) Mantraraaja, and the Hare Krishna (HARI NAAMA) Mahaamantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Raama Hare Raama Raama Raama Hare Hare. NITAAI Yoga is the sublime process of Nitaai Gaura Krishna Consciousness or Nityaananda Gauranga Hare Krishna Naam Bhakti as taught to us by the great stalwart spiritual preceptors like Shrila Swaami Prabhupaada, Shrila Sarasvati Prabhupaada, Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thaakura and All the Associates of Lords Nitaai Gaura. For the best results, it is recommended that one try to abstain from sinful activities including cruelty to any living being (including animals) and intoxicated life.
NITAAI Yoga is performed via the process of NITAAI Kriyaa, which broadly contains the following nine kinds of Bhakti Kriyaas:
(1) The first NITAAI Praana Kriyaa is the deep breathing with both nostrils or anuloma and viloma (with one nostril at a time) of the NITAAI and GAURA Mantras. One cycle of NITAAI Kriyaa contains two breaths as follows. Mentally chant "NI" while inhaling and "TAAI" while exhaling during the first breath and "GAU" while inhaling and "RA" while exhaling during the second breath. Breathe these two Mantras throughout the day and feel the bliss all over your body, heart and soul.
(2) The second NITAAI Lekhana Kriyaa is the writing and visualizing of the Sanskrit Syllables of NITAAI and GAURA or NITYAANANDA and GAURAANGA in the air with our forefinger or on paper with a pen or on a whiteboard etc. Meditation on Form of the Sanskrit Syllables of these three Mantras is as good as meditating of God Himself. Thus, NITAAI Lekhana Kriyaa is an extremely potent process for our soul to contact and reciprocate with God
(3) The third NITAAI Dhyaana Kriyaa is the worship and meditation on the Divine Forms of NITAAI and GAURA and RADHA and KRISHNA in the form of a Photo or Deity, which is the transcendental representation of God and non-different from Him. The Mantras reveal the Divine Form of God and continuous meditation on that Form leads to further deeper realization of His Divine Qualities and Pastimes.
(4) The fourth NITAAI Dhaama Kriyaa is a spiritual Yoga Retreat to the spiritually charged Holy Places of the Lord's Pastimes, in the association of sincere spiritual practitioners, to internalize the depth of our meditation and to spiritually charge our beings. God is certainly present in a much more condensed and accessible form in those places where He has personally performed His Pastimes. The main three Vedic Abodes of God in India are Navadvipa (West Bengal), Puri (Orissa) and Vraja (Uttar Pradesh).
(5) The fifth NITAAI Tulasi Kriyaa involves the regular care, watering and worship of the Holy Tulasi (Ocimum tenuiflorum) plant. This simple act is extremely pleasing to God and anyone who worships Tulasi certainly becomes the Lord's Associate.
(6) The sixth Kriyaa is the NITAAI Prasaada Kriyaa, which is the sublime process of offering the vegetarian food which you cook daily in front a Photo or Deity of Lords NITAAI GAURA while reciting the three Mantras and with a Tulasi leaf on each food preparation. This is done in order to spiritually sanctify the food and make it fully karma-free because even vegetarian food contains karmic reactions. This sanctified offered food which is known as Prasaada in Sanskrit spiritually nourishes our soul and not just our bodies. An important part of the NITAAI Prasaada Kriyaa is also to fast from all kinds of grain-food twice a month on the Ekaadashis and on some other Holy Days of God during the year for conquering the urges of our tongue and belly.
(7) The seventh NITAAI Shravana Kriyaa is the regular hearing or reading or inquiring or discussing with realized souls, the spiritual sound vibration of the Mantras, Verses, Pastime Narrations, Discourses, Holy Scriptures etc., with full concentration on absorbing the spiritual sound of these transcendental topics. Without such regular hearing from advanced spiritual authorities, one may not be able sustain one's steadiness in the performance of NITAAI Yoga.
(8) The NITAAI Japa Kriyaa, which is the seventh Kriyaa, is the softly audible chanting of the three full Mantras (Nityaananda, Gauraanga, and the Hare Krishna Mahaamantra) on a Holy Tulasi maalaa (rosary) of 108 beads. One round of each Mantra is equal to chanting each Mantra 108 times. The NITAAI Yoga spiritual practitioner should fix a number of Mantra rounds of each of these three Mantras which he or she can comfortably chant daily according to one's capacity and perform it steadily and regularly for ensuring one's spiritual success. If possible, try to gradually increase. The daily discipline in this ITAAI Japa Kriyaa will be rewarded with abundant spiritual love and happiness by the Lord.
(9) The NITAAI Sankirtana Kriyaa is the most important ninth and ultimate Kriyaa. It is life and King of all other NITAAI Kriyaas and the essence of NITAAI Yoga. It is the rope which binds and brings God to us. It is a meditational and musical process of singing and dancing accompanied by the melodious hearing and chanting of the NITYAANANDA, GAURAANGA and HARE KRISHNA Mantras. The musical instruments to accompany this NITAAI Sankirtana Kriyaa are the karataalas or hand cymbals and the mridangas or elongated barrel clay drums with different diameter heads on both sides. This process of rhythmic dancing along with the loud singing of the Mantras and Devotional Songs is very effective in rejuvenating our spiritual lives.
One can perform these NITAAI Kriyaas during any period of the day and instantly feel the unlimited bliss of NITAAI Yoga. NITAAI Yoga is as simple as simply vibrating or hearing or singing or breathing or meditating on these three Kings of all Mantras, throughout the day, in any of the above ways. Therefore, NITAAI Yoga can be performed anywhere or everywhere while doing anything or everything by anyone or everyone. There are no rules or regulations. There is no loss or expense, only unlimited gain for the real us, i.e. our soul. Try it and you will certainly attain unending happiness and your eternal position in the spiritual world.
Aspiring for your service in NITAAI Yoga,
