Here, we must know that regard for Guru and Vaisnava
is necessary before affection. Then progress will come to
us.

adau sraddha tatah sadhu-sango �tho bhajana-kriya, tato
�nartha-nivrttih syat tato nistha.

1 faith,
2 two kinds of association sadhu, and book
3  trying seriously take to devotional service,proper performance of devotional duties .
4 becoming free of all unwanted  material desires.
5 steadiness in devotional service
6 deep taste for devotional service
7 attachment for Sri Gauranga Krsna
8 ecstasy for Gauranga krsna
9 pure love for Gauranga Krsna

nearly all practitioners are in the group 1 to 3

In the Chaitanya-charitam�ta it is said:
diksa-kale bhakta kare atma-samarpana
sei kale krsna tare kare atma-sama
(Antya-lila, 4.192)
When one is initiated by a genuine Guru; because the
Guru is non-different from Krsna, Krsna will take the full
charge of the disciple. And when Krsna does that, nothing
mundane can remain.
brahmananaa bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva
guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija
(Madhya-lila, 19.151)

Premno hi bija-pradam. The Guru takes the responsibility to
give the seed of Krsna-prema, Love of God. So we are not
to be hopeless! Now if we are given the seed, if we plant
it properly, it will gradually become transcendental.
