Lord Nityananda not in Our Sampradaya?
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!
Dear Gurudevaji and devotees please accept my obeisances. All glories to the guru parampara. All glories to Sri Sri Gaura Nitai. All glories to Sri Sri Radha Govinda.
Question: You say that Lord Nityananda is the Adi Guru (Guru of all gurus) but in your parampara I don’t see Him mentioned anywhere.
Answer: Thank you for your very good question. Lord Nityananda is not only the Adi Guru of the Gaudiya Vaisnava Sampradaya He is also the Adi Guru of the other four Vaisnava Sampradayas. The first in line of our Sampradaya is Lord Sri Krishna Himself. Lord Balarama is the first expansion of Lord Sri Krishna and is non-different from Him. Lord Balarama is the active principle of Lord Krishna and all other expansions come from Him. Wherever Lord Sri Krishna is Lord Sri Balarama is also. As you know Lord Gauranga is non-different from Sri Sri Radha Krishna and He appears also in our Sampradaya. Lord Balarama appears as Lord Nityananda in Gaura-lila and He is naturally present wherever Lord Gauranga is. In this sense Lord Nityananda appears twice in our Sampradaya however Lord Nityananda is actually present in the whole spiritual succession because the gurus in our Sampradaya are considered incarnations of Lord Nityananda. The guru is the living manifestation of Lord Nityananda’s love and mercy and His Shakti power that gives the disciple the ability to perform spiritual service and the experience of spiritual bliss. In His secondary expansion as Kshirodakashayi Vishnu, He is present in the hearts of all living entities as the Supersoul and as such He is considered the guru within. So as you can see Lord Nityananda as the principle Guru is in all places of our Sampradaya including within ourselves.
He is called Adi Guru because He is the only One Who can deliver us at Lord Gauranga’s and Sri Sri Radha Krishna’s lotus feet. He is the awarder of the highest joy to all and the Bestower of the Holy Names. He Himself is full of nothing but pleasure because He is the only One Who completely beholds Lord Gauranga (Sri Sri Radha Govinda).
Your servant,
Hadai Nityananda dasa
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!
