Inner Meaning of Guruji's Prayer

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!

Dear Guruji, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to the guru parampara. All glories to Gaura Nitaai. All glories to Sri Sri Radha Govinda.

Guruji please forgive me for asking: for a while we have been reading your statements at the top of the homepage of the forum. You make there two statements that seem to contradict each other.

At first you say: “Today I realized how one remains transcendental in the association of advanced devotees, unaffected by the surrounding material influences and distractions.”

Then you say: “Today as I was chanting in Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada's Samadhi in Mayapura, I desperately prayed to him to ensure that I will not take any more births in this painful material world.”

I do not understand why you ask for liberation from this ‘painful material world’ while you know how to remain transcendental to its influences? Also, as far as my limited understanding goes, does the devotee not rather beg and pray for the Lord’s and His devotees’ loving association rather than praying for the circumstances in which that might be? Please be so kind to enlighten us with the inner meaning of what you are praying for.

Your servant,

Hadai Nityananda dasa

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna!
