Re: Inner Meaning of Guruji's Prayer
You reach out and pray for further development to the stage of highest loving association rather than praying for liberation from the cycle of birth and death. You didnt mean to say going away from material pain but you meant to say: going towards the highest plane of transcendental pleasure.
Thank you Hadai for your understanding. Praying for liberation from the cycle of birth and death and going away of material pain only with a devotional mood is also not an unfavorable thing. It is a stepping stone to attain the association of Lord Gaura Krishna. A devotee will never end up in the impersonal brahman even if the devotee prays for liberation from the cycle of of birth and death only. This prayer is in the interest of the soul and is the actual spiritual selfishness of the soul to be liberated from material bondage. When the soul of a devotee is free from cycle of birth and death, it will certainly attain the Lord automatically. Thus, many Vaishnava Acharyas have exclusively prayed for liberation from the cycle of birth and death ...ayi nanda tanuja kinkaram... because it is synonymous with attaining the service of the Lord. Praying for favorable circumstances like the spiritual world instead of the material world in order to serve the Lord is also a bonafide prayer. There is nothing wrong in that since the consciousness is Bhakti.
Daaso'smi, BR Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada.
