Re: My Video Reply to the Puri Incident Regarding Shrila Prabhupada
Dear Vaisnavas,
Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! Please accept my respectful obeisances! With this last post I conclude whatever I wanted to write about this issue. Thank you very much for your patience.
The issue at hand doesn't seem to be organising Rath Yatras at different places. Rather it's about the Rath Yatras being held on different dates. Now it is totally impossible to organise all the Rath Yatras simultaneously. In South India, we have so many major temples and each of them has their own annual Rath festival. Everyone has it on different days. In my area, the Srinivasa temple, the Kesava temple, the Parthasarathy Swami temple all have it on different days. The Srirangam temple has it on one day, Tirumala temple on another, etc..etc..this is true for all the Siva temples here too.
Suggesting that all the Rath festivals should be held on the same day will only cause an infinity of trouble and the idea will be laughed at. No one here says anything about different Visnu temples having Rath festivals on different days. Even the Siva temples or other temples that follow Sankaracharya's system don't hold it on the same day. Factually all the oppositions arguments are all politically motivated. Till recently no one has objected to the Rath Yatras even in India, but only now have these problems started happening.
Lord Gauranga wanted the glories of His name and abode and pastimes to be kept secret for a while, but now by His wish it is spreading all over the world, one way or another. Some people have objected to our chanting saying that Lord Gauranga did not encourage his worship, but all those arguments are invalid. So is this.
Sincerely,
Srinath
