Re: Euthanize of pet question

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krsna!

Dear Bhakta Ron,

I just wrote you a long response and accidentally hit the delete button sad

Anyhow, I will make a few short notes again. I also got my dog before I made deeper commitment in devotional life, so I take charge and responsibility as a dog owner. Some devotees may not understand, but this dog has taught me many things, as I am a single man. He taught me about care and nurture, and thinking about someone else rather than just myself. Guru is there in all times if we can see. Gradually our hearts awaken, birth after birth.

I have been reading Sri Brhad Bhagavatamrita and am deeply touched by Sanatana Goswami's devotion soaked writing. At one point in the first section of the book I saw Krsna in a very sweet light. Loving simple caring! Such affection for the residents of Vraj. I know am not qualified to deeply relish such a  mood with God, but I aspire for it deeply.

Take heart Ron, as we dive into Naam and Katha, Krsna will keep all well, in love and care. Simple in service. That's what I love about this path we are on; we don't have to be big philosophers or speculators, or grand. But by some good fortune we may aspire for simplicity and humility. Hopefully grace may teach us humilities ways day by day. I am sure of it in this human birth!.

So day by day, little step by little step I have faith that Krsna will lead us home. Detachment is an easy concept to read in a book, but life's arrangements will teach us all deep lessons in detachment eventually, then we will have tasted the loving hand of God. So gently goes it hey! smile

Even in the greatest pain of separation, out of love and compassion, Krsna comes to soothe the heart inflamed. Even our little doggies will taste the nectar of Krsna katha oneday.

in love and service....Nava.
