Reversal of Yugas
Respected Swamiji and All Vaisnavas,
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
Jaya Visnupada Srila Prabhupada!
Jaya Swami Gaurangpada!
All glories to the guru parampara!
All glories to the Vaisnavas!
In Srimad Bhagavatham 1st Canto while writing about Vyasadeva appearing in the Yuga Sandhya Srila Prabhupada writes that in this particular chatur-yuga, the third age appeared before the second. As far as I know, Dvapara comes from dvau (two) and Treta comes from tri (three) in sanskrit. So the Treta Yuga has appeared before the Dvapara Yuga. What was the reason for this?
Does that mean the order before this was Satya, Dvapara, Treta and Kali? Does the Yuga reversal have something to do with the appearance of Lord Krishna and Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu?
That reminds me of another question? Does Lord Mahaprabhu always advent in the immediate Kali Yuga right after Krishna's pastimes in Dvapara YugA?
In that case were the characteristics of the two Yugas interchanged in the past? For e.g. With people being 75% perfect in the Dvapara Yuga and 50% perfect in Treta? In that case what about the sloka in SB 12.3.52 which says Yajnas in treta Yuga and Deity worship in Dvapara Yuga was the yuga dharma? Was that also reversed? Or is it true for all yugas?
Requesting your guidance,
Srinath
