Re: Gaura-Nitaai: The Most Merciful
Bhaktivinoda Thakura says: "If we surrender to Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu, all our previous offences are instantly absolved. Then the merciful Holy Name showers us with divine love."
I do not know which quote in which book this statement refers to exactly. It may be from Shrila Sacchidaananda Bhaktivinoda Thaakura's song..gaura kripaa habe he...aparadha dure jabe...pabe prema dhana...doyal nitaai chaitanya bali naacha re aamaara mana.
This statement talks about the general process surrendering to Lords Nitaai Gaura. The statement in Shri Navadvipa Dhaama Mahaatmya specifically talks about chanting Their Holy Names feelingly and regularly. So there is a difference. Simply surrendering to Lords Gaura Nitaai will first destroy all our offenses and then grant us pure love eventually. But chanting Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama regularly even goes a further and pure love begins searching after such a fortunate person irrespective of whether the person possesses offenses or not and later grants that person freedom from all the offenses and the offensive mentality. Again this shows the extra magnanimous nature Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama over and above Their Lordships Nityaananda Gauraanga Themselves. Thus, I personally have implicit faith that if Nityaananda Gauraanga Naama are spread widely in this world, there can be a golden age like the most fortunate time when Lords Nityaananda Gauraanga were personally present on this planet 522 years ago. I hope some sincere souls take us this mission for the ultimate welfare of all the living entities in the next few thousand years.
Daaso'smi, BR Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada.
