7. Nityananda Gauranga Naam Cintamani (3)

(11) nitai gauranga naam smarana naam sankirtana, ye hi matra dharma kali me jiva kare palana.

(12) yuga dharma pravartaka sri gauranga syama, nityananda gauranga hare krishna naam.

(13) nityananda mantraraja panca akshara naam, gauranga mantraraja catura akshara naam.

(14) nityananda mantraraja haladhara balarama, gauranga mantraraja gaura gopala naam.

(15) panca tattva rupa me gauranga suvyakta, rupa svarupa avatara sakti bhakta.

Request to Disciples to Write at least Once a Month

Dear Disciples and Devotees, Nityananda!! Gauranga!! Hare Krishna!! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! I would like to kindly request my disciples and devotees who are receiving spiritual guidance and shelter from me, who have access to the internet, to write to me by email at least once a month or post on NITAAI.com informing me about their spiritual and chanting monthly progress and other news which they would like to share, receive blessings for or need guidance about. Those disciples who do not have internet access can write to me by snail mail or call me. Disciples can fix a monthly date in their calendar to do so.

This will help me to pray for your constant spiritual progress and keep you in my remembrances while in touch with Lord Gaura Krishna. It is a great happiness for the Guru to regular know about the spiritual progress and devotional service of the disciple and thus keep the disciple in his prayers. You can just write honestly about your realizations and your honest successes and failures in chanting and devotional service during the month. This will help me to pray for you in the right way to our Lord Nityaananda and Lord Gauraanga Krishna.

Daaso'smi, BR Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada.

We can harmonize any minor changes, or non esential changes, that Srila Prabhupada did, in the light that He is a Saktyavesa Avatara, that means that have the power to establish changes, acording to Time, Place and people capacity.

Re: Importance of meeting a Nitya Siddha Devotee

By Mahabhagavata, I mean fully Siddha. As I have said before, after a soul is Siddha or perfect, it does not matter much whether the soul was a Nitya Siddha or a Sadhana Siddha because the soul is an Associate of the Lord in either case and each Associate of the Lord has the powerful to make us the Lord's Associate either by his or her Vani or Vapu. Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Thank You dear Swami Gaurangapada Maharaja, dear Srinath and dear Damodara Svarupa dasa prabhu for Your insightful replies to my question.

With the use of the term "Mahabhgavata", is a Nitya Siddha Devotee of Lord Gaura Krishna meant? Or simply a Pure Devotee, be him Sadhana Siddha, Nitya Siddha or even a devotee of a Madhyama Adhikari platform?

Thank You very much,

Re: The Hundred and Eight Names of the Tridandi-sannyasis

Nityananda!! Gauranga!! Hare Krishna!! Shrila Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada followed this system of naming all his sannyasi disciples with either one of this 108 last names for Tridandi sannyasis. Shrila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada while preaching in the West, according to time, place and circumstances, decided to transfer the brahmachari names of some of his disciples to their sannyasa name since their brahmachari names were already very spiritual and also as a way to give credit to the wonderful services the devotees rendered in their brahmachari lives. As it is said in the Vedas, phalena parichiyate (judge everything from the results), the very fact that Shrila Swami Prabhupada could fulfill the desire of his Gurudeva Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada by successfully preaching in the West means that his Gurudeva Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta gladly approved the minor changes he made while preaching according to the time, place and circumstances.

Re: Importance of meeting a Nitya Siddha Devotee

Dear Matus, Nityananda!! Gauranga!! Hare Krishna!! Jaya Shri Vinoda Sarasvata Vedanta Guru Parampara! As we know, association with the Vani of an eternally perfect Associate of the Lord is even more powerful than personal physical direct association with him or her. We have seen many souls, who inspite of being in the personal association of a Mahabhagavata devotee committed offenses and thus were not able to appreciate or take benefit of that pure association. This was due to their lack of understanding of the Vani of that Mahabhagavata. Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura states that a Vaishnava always lives in sound vibration of his Vani eternally. Whereas he is only present for a few years on this planet via Vapu.

There is nothing in Vapu or physical association which is not there in Vani or association by hearing or reading and thus it is not mandatory to have physical association with a Mahabhagavata to become a Mahabhagavata ourselves since all the benefits of that Vapu association can be attained by Vani also. In any case, direct physical association with the Holy Dhaamas of Puri, Navadvipa and Vraja can always be had by the sadhaka along with the association of the purest Vaishnavi Tulasi devi and Naama Prabhu and last but not the least association with the Mahabhagavataas of Gaura lila in the form of Shri Chaitanya Bhagavata, Shri Chaitanya Charitamrita, Shri Navadvipa Dhaama Mahatmya, Shri Chaitanya Mangala etc.

That said, devotees who are not quite advanced need Vapu or physical association to stabilize their devotional practice. And higher the quality of Vapu, the more they are inspired and encouraged on the path to understanding the Lord and the Associates by Vani. So direct physical association with a Mahabhagavata is certainly an ideal situation but it is not the only way to attain love since their Vani is always available to us also, especially of the Associates of Lord Nitaai Gaura.

Daaso'smi, BR Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada.

Re: Importance of meeting a Nitya Siddha Devotee

Dear Vaishnavas,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! Please accept my respectful obeisances! It is not wrong to ask about perfection. This is not material perfection.

What is real perfection? The real perfection for us jiva souls is to become the servant of the servant, nothing else. Our idea of perfection is relative, therefore we consider our humble position to be a defect. But the truth is that we are in illusion because we refuse to accept our real position as perfect and instead try to be something else, namely trying to be the Lord. That is the cause of all our bewilderment. The more we try to be something else, the more and more fallen and miserable our situation becomes. Those who suffer worst in illusion are the most impersonal.

Perfected souls are of two types : Sadhaka Siddha and Nitya Siddha. Sadhaka siddhas are souls who become perfect and attain the spiritual world and Nitya siddhas are those who are eternal residents of the spiritual world who never reside in the material world. Words are inaccurate though because once one attains the spiritual world one is not different from the eternal residents there.

Association with a devotee is of two types : Vani (Sound) and Vapu (Physical). Without the association of a devotee, no one can attain perfection of going back to Godhead. They are our gurus, we are their servants. Without them, we will always rot in this material ocean. Although on the absolute level there is no difference between the two, still for the conditioned souls, there is a difference.

The preaching movement is a vani movement, nevertheless conditioned souls are so fallen that they cannot get the full benefits of associating with vani alone. We end up scratching the surface and with our level of contamination, it will take an unfathomable amount of time to get complete association with vani. On the relative level, vani is passive association for conditioned souls. Vapu on the other hand is active association. We need that for guiding us. When we slip, when we get doubts, when we do not understand vani, only vapu can save the day. How will we get diksha? Diksha can be given only by vapu. Who will take the trouble to make us learn and show us the path? Just as the Lord descends in his deity form for us, so the devotees descend personally to the world to save us.

So the answer is simple : Yes. Direct association of a pure devotee is absolutely necessary.  The books and audios and all other vani is meant to drive us to the feet of Sri Guru who in turn gives us qualification to properly associate with vani. It is absolutely necessary. But where it is not so easily available, then we must still try for the next best thing, such as this forum. Without association we cannot be delivered.

Modern technology has resulted in the distinction between vani and vapu to be blurred considerably as shown by this site. We are fortunate to have managed to get the association of gurudeva H H Swami Gaurangapada and many other devotees here. Nevertheless there is no substitute for seeing the guru face to face and being actually able to fall at his feet...oh the mercy!

Daaso'smi,
Srinath

Nityananda, Gauranga, Hare Krishna.
Jaya Guru Parampara, Jaya Swamiji Gaurangapada.

My dear Matus,

According to my opinion, the definition of Nitya-siddha is a person whose state of mind is to never forget the Supreme Personality of Godhead. There are those, whom I never met in person, who can be called Nitya-siddha. Our diksha Guru and our siksha Gurus can be called Nitya-siddha. Not having met them in person, will I therefore attain or just not attain 'perfection'? What is perfection anyway? Is it possible for a human to become perfect? Personally, I'd rather stay focused on my way Back to Godhead, than trying to obtain 'perfection'.   Another idea is that although I never met Shrila Prabhupada in person, I can still read/follow His preachings in His (audio)books He left for us to hear/read and study. His Spirit/Soul is within His books. He still 'speaks' to us...

Importance of meeting a Nitya Siddha Devotee

Dear Swami Gaurangapada Maharaja, dear Devotees
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Please accept my most respectful obeisances.

i have the following question: Does one need to personally (physically) come across a Nitya Siddha Devotee of Lord Gauranga Krishna in one's life in order to be able to attain perfection?

Thank You very much.

7. Nityananda Gauranga Naam Cintamani

Nityananda Gauranga Naam Cintamani Verse 1-50

(1)gauranga naam cintamani, Chaitanya rasa vigraha;nitya suddha purna mukta naam nami abhinna.

(2) deha dehi vibhaga kabhi naam me nahi haya, jo gauranga vo hi naam eka hi tattva haya.

(3) nitai gauranga rupa naam, sarvada abheda; naam rupa eka hi vastu, nahi haya viccheda.

(4) nitai gauranga naam smare rupa a jaya sange, hridaya me naam rupa nace vividha range.

(5) saba ko chodake gauranga naam, jo kare bhajana; kali me maha bhagyavana, vo hi mahajana.

gauranga-nitai yei bale eka bara; ananta karama-dosa anta haya tara.

nitai-Chaitanya bali yei jiva dake; suvimala krsna-prema anvesaye thake

aparadha badha tara kichu nahi kare; nirmala krsna-preme tara ankhi jhare.

svalpa kale aparadha apani palaya; hrdaya sodhita haya prema bade taya.

Caitanya Caritamrita  Adi-Lila 8.31:
Chaitanya-nityanande nahi esaba vicara, naam laite prema dena, vahe asrudhara

Nitai-Gaura Premanande!

6. 16 Gründe Nityananda zu chanten (1)

6. 16 Grnde Nityananda zu chanten

Zusammengestellt und bersetzt von BR Sadhu Swami Gaurangapada

(1) Weil es grosse Acharyas frher getan haben:

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 11.33:
navadvipe purusottama pandita mahasaya, nityananda-name yanra mahonmada haya

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 11.34:
balarama dasa--krsna-prema-rasasvadi, nityananda-name haya parama unmadi

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-lila 8.23:
'nityananda' balite haya krsna-premodaya;aulaya sakala anga,asru-ganga vaya.

Caitanya-bhagavata, Adi-khanda 9.385:
nityananda-hena bhakta sunile sravane; avasya paibe krsnacandra sei jane.

Shripada Madhavendera Puri stellt fest:

tumi yabe kara daya sei anayase; sri Chaitanya-pada paya prema-jale bhase.

tomara karuna vina gaura nahi paya, sata janma bhaje yadi gauranga hiyaya.

Leben verehrt.

Caitanya Caritamrita Antya-Lila 6.131:
tomara krpa vina keha 'Chaitanya' na paya; tumi krpa kaile tanre adhameha paya.

gaura danta kara yadi tumi raksa kara, tumi yare danta kara gaura tara para.

Caitanya-bhagavata, Madhya-khanda 12.18:
name nityananda tumi, rupe nityananda; ei tumi nityananda rama murttimanta.

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.204:
jaya jaya nityananda-caranaravinda, yanha haite painu sri-radha-govinda

heno nitai vine bhai, radha-krishna paite nai

nitae karuna habe vraje radha-krsna pabe

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.207:
emana nirghrna more keba krpa kare, eka nityananda vinu jagat bhitare

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.208-9:
preme matta nityananda krpa-avatara, uttama, adhama, kichu na kare vicara

ye age padaye, tare karaye nistara, ataeva nistarila mo-hena duracara

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.181:
bhaike bhartsinu muni, lana ei guna, sei ratre prabhu more dila darasana

(Was fr ein gndiger Herr!)

sei pasu boro duracar

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.181:
bhaike bhartsinu muni, lana ei guna, sei ratre prabhu more dila darasana

Caitanya Caritamrita Antya-Lila 6.131:
tomara krpa vina keha 'Chaitanya' na paya; tumi krpa kaile tanre adhameha paya.
gaura danta kara yadi tumi raksa kara, tumi yare danta kara gaura tara para.

Caitanya-bhagavata, Madhya-khanda 12.18:
name nityananda tumi, rupe nityananda; ei tumi nityananda rama murttimanta.

Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.204:
jaya jaya nityananda-caranaravinda, yanha haite painu sri-radha-govinda
heno nitai vine bhai, radha-krishna paite nai
nitae karuna habe vraje radha-krsna pabe
Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.207:
emana nirghrna more keba krpa kare, eka nityananda vinu jagat bhitare
Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.208-9:
preme matta nityananda krpa-avatara, uttama, adhama, kichu na kare vicara
ye age padaye, tare karaye nistara, ataeva nistarila mo-hena duracara
Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-Lila 5.181:
bhaike bhartsinu muni, lana ei guna, sei ratre prabhu more dila darasana
(Was fr eine gndiger Herr!)
sei pasu boro duracar

Re: Advice for the Youth and Students

I know the feeling, it is terribly difficult to conquer lust, I am still trying, I have not felt spiritual bliss yet, but I did manage to resist for a relatively long time, the battle continues, I wish to be successful fully this time!

Re: Struggling in Brahmacharya

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
Dandavats and obeissances.

The above 2 posts give good advice on how to help your condition. The problem is that with our previous samskaras the lust isn't easily eradicated from our heart because maya is so strong and it is very hard in the present world to eradicate this lust once we have started because of the constant reminders wherever we go, and we are not yet paramahamsas who are constantly fixed in the Lord's service. The main thing is to try to please the Lord by chanting his holy names Nityananda, Gauranga, and the maha mantra.
What you are experiencing is very common and if you chant the names of the Lord you will never see hell even if you do slip up  from time to time. The Lord knows how awful this age of Kali Yuga can be and that is why he came as Nitai-Gaura to help us. Just try your best and don't get depressed or discouraged because of falldowns. Just remember when we fall down we really only hurt ourselves; physically, mentally, and spiritually, but it still is very hard if not impossible at times for some of us so just try your best and take shelter of the Lord.

Re: Advice for the Youth and Students

Hi there.

I am not Indian but Dutch, but throughout my life, I realized I am living an indian lifestyle. While I have no reflection from the outside world at all, it all comes from within. No one around me is into any yoga or anything that I seem to feel interest in. It's probably a memory from my past life or a parallel life which i have right now, connected on the level of spirit where time does not exist.
I meditate entire days when I am free, and feel content with it. But I also had something in me which was the hardest to get rid off. Since I became more aware of and on my journey, and realized that it all was simply one path, I worked myself through every bad habit that possessed me. The hardest one to conquer was answering lust with masturbation or sex for personal pleasure. Eventually when I became 27 I finally was able to conquer this longing. It became more and more clear to me that that was something in the way of my spiritual journey. It took my mind away from concentration on things. And I realized it was like the moment I went through huge spiritual transformations, even while completely aware, something tried to trick me and drag me along in answering my lust. The more and more I saw it was something that I did not control, I put it outside of myself and looked it straight in the eyes, and laughed. It became fun, are you trying to trick me again? "Thank you for showing me that in this moment I can completely let go of you, because you're afraid of not being able to control me anymore, if I go on with what I was supposed to do right now, and my meditation will be powerful, because otherwise you would not stand in the way trying to fool me."
Anyways, this eventually helped, it took me 2 months to do this, 1/2 year later it fooled me again, coming back at the time I was confused. By using meditation and mantras I am able to continue my days in my dreams, I wake up in the morning in exactly the same state as during the meditation. Of course this is not always possible, sometimes because of my work I am so tired that I can not stay aware.
Something which is really helpful when you realize that your sex organ is growing, as if it wants something while you do not, is that in these moments you can clearly see that you're not in control of the organ, something unconsciously triggers this. Working with mantras at these moment does wonders. It completely creates an absence of your lust. When you continue this the feeling of lust does not appear anymore. All pictures or videos or whatever triggered this do nothing to you anymore. You feel you only want the real thing. And if you're aware you let an illusion take you over, you start to feel what is right for you. The powerful loving moments of becoming one with a woman, the touch of a woman on all levels.
And during the time you do not meet the right person for you, once you stop having sex and masturbation, it will first be replaced by wet dreams at night. Later you will go through spontanic kundalini risings during meditation that feel far more real and better then any form of sex. These kind of moment can take place when you make love with a woman only, or during meditation alone, but never ever with ejaculation alone.
At this moment I do not want children, and I know that any sex with a woman would be completely for pleasure and physical love. Love on a spiritual level does not need sex as pleasure, there is faaaaar more enjoyment once you are completely connected with one and another.
;)
I am 34 now and of course sometimes I get a trigger in me that wants something, but I feel that it will go away as rapidly as it came. I found this site, because I thought I was getting impotent because I couldn't get it up anymore. So in my insecurity I forgot to trust my inner knowing and started to look online for answers to the health of not masturbating, then I came to this site. You know how hard it is in this world to speak about these things. Almost impossible. And sometimes in your insecurity you need to reflect. It's a longing for confirmation, especially if your on you own.

All I can say it only has done good things in my life, this is really something you have to conquer if you want to evolve.
Looking at these tiny sperm cells, these are programmed and quality engineered beings you throw away every time you masturbate, it's such a pity. There is just 1 who will make it eventually, but this one might be in the drain right now. hahaha

Life without masturbation is more meaningful and wonderful, and it feels so good that you can conquer such a instinctive drive, you feel connected to Krishna....

Re: Advice for the Youth and Students

Dear devotees,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My apologies and pranams!

The poem is actually an extract of a much larger work I just finished. Here is the full poem:

Destroying lust, the mother of all evils

O spiritual candidates who desire to destroy lust!
But who face setbacks at every step,
Facing the attack of maya starting with lusty thoughts,
Which lead to dreadful problems starting with masturbation,
Pulling us further and further away from the Lord,
Please, oh please, chant the most merciful "Nityananda! Gauranga!"
And the sublimely sweet "Hare Krishna!" Mahamantra at all times,

And Say a firm "NO!" to maya,
To satisfy our lust we try to cheat,
Oh friends! This cheating is the worst, worse than lust itself!
Cheating in devotion is the ticket to destruction of your creeper of devotion!
It is an invitation to maya to attack in all her glory.
When you give her an inch, she takes up a mile,
It is ok to be limited, to be weak, to be defective, to be helpless,
But it is never ok to cheat, never!
Those who try to cheat become the cheated,
Cheating is the mother of all offenses, all sins, all evils,
The Lord will deliver any one even more sinful than Jagai and Madhai
If one just does not cheat.

Please never compare yourself to others,
Thinking, "The whole world does it. Do they suffer?"
Then your vision becomes relative and material,
And you lose sight of the Absolute,
O souls! Please realize this truth,
No one can escape the punishment of maya,
If you are not convinced, wait and watch,
And see whatever little devotion the cheaters have,
Dwindle to zero, as they become atheistic impersonalists,
The lusty world you admire will meet its day when time is up,
And then reality awaits in the abode of Yamaraj,
As Srimad Bhagavatam and the Puranas declare it,
Behold the fate of your friends who intimidated you, "Lust isn't wrong!"
But in this age of Kali, hell already exists on earth!

So always see the Absolute standard,
See it as the Lord and His devotees see it.
Be honest, humble and open minded to the bitter truth
Which ultimately takes you to the sweetest of all endings,
Material sex pleasure is the biggest lie,
Our acharyas said, "NO illicit sex."
Please observe the truths they speak in these lines,
Know the reality behind the mother of all sins and offenses,
Write these lines down in your heart like writing on stone,
So that this knowledge you may never forget.

When you know that masturbation (illicit sex) is sin,
When you know that it is so harmful to physical, mental and spiritual health,
When you know that it takes you to hell,
When you know that there is no happiness but only violence and agitation
When you know that thinking about illicit sex is the same as actually doing it
When you know that masturbation is never different from, but identical to the sin of sexually abusing others against their will,
When you know that it is another devotee, another Vaishnava and servant of the Lord you hurt,
When you know that the Lord is watching you hurt his devotee
When you know that you can't cheat the Lord who knows and sees all,
When you know that you are only cheating yourself,
When you know that it is insulting the Lord,
When you know that it is lila aparadha,
When you know that it is madhurya bhakti aparadha,
When you know that it is Gopi-Aparadha,
When you know that it is Sahajiyaism,
When you know that you're trying to become God to vulgarly enjoy others as a drug,
When you know that it is nothing but Mayavadism at its dirt cheapest,

When you realize the extraordinary physical, mental and spiritual benefits of brahmacharya,
When you realize the importance of celibacy for cultivation of pure devotion,
When you realise how the pure devotees are perfect celibates whether they are brahmacharis, householders or sannyasis,
When you are purified and guided by the association of pure devotees,

When you know how much the Lord loves you
When you know how personal He wants to be with you,
When you know how much our actions hurt the tender heart of the Lord who shows so much mercy just for one drop of our love,
When you realize that the Lord eternally keeps coming after you despite all of what has been told till now,
When you know that the Lord forgives it in spite of all when you first chant "Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!"
When you realize that the Lord sells Himself to us fallen sinners just because we chant Him as His most merciful Name,
When you realize how everyone in the spiritual world is desperate to rescue you,
When you realize how they worry themselves sick out of compassion for you,
When you realize how the spiritual masters spend 200 gallons of blood for just one soul,

When you realize how the Lord and his devotees deliver not just one Jagai and Madhai, but all Jagais and Madhais in unlimited universes that are ourselves,
When you continuously chant the Holy names of the Lord in naama-sankirtana,
When you kick impersonalism away for good and embrace personalism and devotion,
When you realize the true spiritual taste,
When you realize that the Lord treats you just as He treats His dearest devotees,
When you realize how happy the devotees are to have you with them eternally,

When the Lord and his devotees completely get rid of your mountain of guilt by replacing it with a mountain of devotion,
When you realize what is really meant by the words "Mercy of the Lord and His devotees",
When you realize real, eternal, infinite, yet ever increasing spiritual happiness and love,

When you know all this, you can't lust.
When you know all this, you cannot and will not engage in illicit sex.
And then you'll spit at lust, and never masturbate ever!!!!!!!!

How can this fallen sinner ever understand the glories of the Lord's dear devotees,
Who gave him the spiritual eyes to see the truth,
Who put the Lord in His heart to replace lust with divine love.
I now wish to share that truth with one and all
       To destroy lust, and
       To destroy Mayavada impersonalism,
For my own sake, as these instructions
Must first be self imposed, before giving them to others,
For the sake of pure bhakti,
For the sake of the Lord,
For the benefit of the whole universe,
For the sake of serving all living entities who are actually Vaishnava devotees,
This most fallen worthless servant of the servant of the servants,
Humbly offers this poetry with innumerable defects,
To the devotees and to the Lord.
Hoping to be just another unknown particle of dust at your feet,
Serving you always with love and devotion.

Daaso'smi,
Srinath

Which great Vaishnava wrote this poem?

Dear devotees,

Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna! My humble pranams!

I need to know which Vaishnava wrote this poem of 108 verses glorifying Lord Gaura's names, forms, qualities, pastimes, abodes and devotees. It is fantastic. Prepare to EXPLODE! But please excuse the layout and typos. I just got this poem from somewhere and I don't know who wrote it.

Sri Gaura-kirtana
