Re: Mysterious pastimes in Linga Purana and others

Dear Srinath, Nityaananda! Gauraanga! Hare Krishna!  Linga Purana is one of the six of the 18 Puranas which is meant to uplift those in the mode of ignorance (tamo guna). Thus, the Skanda Purana states that only those statements or the pastimes of the Linga Purana and the other 5 Puranas in the mode of ignorance should be accepted as non-relatively absolute, which are confirmed and supported by the statements in the six Puranas in the mode of goodness (sattva guna), especially Shrimad Bhagavatam. The other modern Puranas like the Devi Purana etc. are not considered authentic at all.
