Everything what should be told is told by other devotees. What i can add is only that i will pray for your happiness and that this difficult situation will not discourage you in chanting Nityananda and Gauranga Mantras.
What people are searching by reading, going for darshans, chanting mantras, prayers, involving ourselves in esoteric studies - all this is made for only on reason - to attain eternal happiness. And when you found the way to achieve this happiness, suddenly someone says that it is not the right way. In the same time that kinds of statements are absolutely in confrontation with what you feel ... Then... well I would say - never give up this happiness. Because its yours. And you are the one, who will benefit from your own activities and from your practice .It may sound very selfish, I know, but please, don't give up chanting  Nityananda Gauranga  Names.
