Attentive Japa - The Ultimate Solution

After years of inattentive chanting I'm starting to realise that inattentive chanting creates moroseness and in one way it kills our enthusiasm in Krishna Consciousness. More inattentive rounds create more distaste towards the sweet name of the Lord.

Even though one sticks to the process of Krishna consciousness even after years of inattentive chanting one hardly makes any progress by not concentrating on the holy name.

In one of his lectures, HH Jayapataka Swami mentions that there is only one activity for which the soul is hankering for since time immemorial and that is to CHANT THE HOLY NAMES of Lord with great attention. He mentioned that simply by doing this one can attract the mercy and attention of the Lord and that is ALL THAT IS REQUIRED to solve all the problems.
If our mind wanders from  chanting then we can take a quick reading break and try to remember & read these points so that our mind & intelligence gets convinced that there is nothing important than attentive chanting. Before we start any activity we think why I should do it and what is in there for me?
