Chant 16 Rounds

From all regulatives principles, the chanting of 16 rounds a day is the most important. This is the faith Srila Prabhupada always had in the Holy names. He revealed that if a devotee chants he will definitely follow all the other principles.

Listening to a lecture from my Gurudev yesterday given this month in a Japa Retreat in Georgia, he was talking about this faith that Srila Prabhupada had in the Holy names and how he wanted everyone to chant the maha mantra.��He used to be so strict to devotees having to chant their 16 rounds and said once that if this was not followed it meant they were committing offense towards the spiritual master by not folowing his orders.

Another thing my gurudev commented was about the offenses and how difficult is sometimes to avoid them. There was a word that I can't forget from his preaching, that we should at least try - this attempt to follow our spiritual master's instructions pleases the Lord and when Krsna is pleased everything happens.

The Lord promises to make the word of his pure devotee happen so it's so true that if we chant 16 rounds and follow the regulative principles we will go back home, back to Godhead, just because that's what our Founder Acharya promised and that's what will happen by the Lord's mercy. This is the power of the maha mantra, it can turn our fallen existance into a blissful life of nonstop devotional service to Krsna.
