Krsna Is Our Friend

This weekend in the Japa room we shared our prayers, some devotees were asking for strengh to chant in the proper mood, others asking to help with offenses, attain love of God, taste for chanting and even association of pure devotees.
Sharing prayers drives us to a sense of humility towards the spiritual master and makes us aware of the importance of being situated in a lower position in relation to the Lord. We understand that we need the shelter of the Supreme everytime and as soon as  we surrender we really experience Krsna taking good care of us.
I learned that daily prayers help us depend on the Lord more and with this state of mind we are more keen to tolerate our struggles and accept what comes in our lives. It's also important to be aware of what motivation we have when praying, if certain thoughts are for material or spiritual acquisitions.

As I heard in a lecture recently, it's really nonsense to pray for material things that are only for our sense gratification, knowing that the Lord already sees our necessities and will supply our needs and maintain what we have. There is no need to be concerned, although Krsna is our friend and if we sometimes have fears or want to share with Him our problems, praying for assistance is the best thing so we can be relieved and the japa time will surely be peaceful and effective. Hoping you all have a blessed week!!
